Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 68 COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO " BUDHASYA ATMANI DEVATA " `The wise considers the inner soul as God " , is the dictum that indicates the hidden power lying in man called soul. It itself is a form of God for guidance. This is the loftiest advaitic philosophy, stating that man is but the reflection of God. " Thou art that " " Tatvamasi " `Aham Bramhasmi' are the sayings that stress upon the latent powers of God that man possesses. It is to discover one's own self with its vast potentialities that is to discover one's own self with its vast potentialities that is stressed upon in all the Vedic texts. " know thyself " `Discover your own self' are the significant sayings exhorting man that he need not seek God elsewhere but can find Him within. People sometimes observe several practices straining the physique, undertaking pilgrimages, following several preachers and adopting several tortuous ways, in order to find out God. While these practices may serve as some ways of discipline, controlling senses etc. the real path, the present Vedic text teaches us is that man should ultimately discover the indwelling Lord. `Atmani devata' `your own soul is the Lord'. This is a great theological saying of monotheism or the oneness with the Lord, seeking Him with one's effort of the soul and discovering the Lord within. " Budhasya " , " the wise " seek God in their own soul " . This is certainly not self centeredness but the discovery of the immense potentialities of man within him otherwise known as heavenly qualities.
