Guest guest Posted August 4, 2009 Report Share Posted August 4, 2009 Shirdi Sai Baba Idol Installed in Mandi Ahmedgarh, PunjabThe TribuneIndiaOur CorrrespondentMandi Ahmedgarh, August 3An idol of Shirdi Sai Baba, sculptured at the cost of Rs 7 lakh, was installed at Sant Sai Mandir at local Ram Sharnam Road here on Sunday.A large number of devotees paid obeisance to the deity during the 3-day murti sthapna celebrations organised by the Sai Sewa Trust and local religious organisations prior to the installation.Sant Rameshwar Giri Ji Maharaj led religious preachers and dignitaries who performed Pran Stathpna ritual.The devotees from various organisations participated in the celebrations. They chanted mantras and recited hymns during stathpna ceremony.Langar was served to the devotees. Usha Sood, president, Municipal Council, and Ravinder Puri, Bimal Kumar Sharma, Bhag Singh Bhagga ( councillors), Dr Sunit Hind and Sanjay Sood were present on the occasion. Vikas Garg, Vishal Goyal, Balwinder Verma and Venu Sood welcomed the devotees.Ahmedgarh is a small town in Sangrur District of Punjab. It is about 18 km north of Malerkotla. It is about 50 km north-west of Sangrur, 26 km south of Ludhiana and 98 km from Chandigarh. Ahmedgarh Railway Station is on the Ludhiana- Dhuri railway line.
