Guest guest
To reach the stage of a Jnani (Knower of the Supreme), the preliminary steps are Karma and Upasana (righteous action and worship). Without following the paths of Karma and Upasana and succeeding in them, one can not become a Jnani, just as a student cannot acquire a degree without passing out of school. Before one becomes an adult, one has to pass through the stages of childhood and youth. It is idle for any one to claim that he is a Jnani, unless he has gone through the prior disciplines. The mark of a Jnani is perennial joy. It is for realizing the oneness of divinity that the three stages of action, worship and knowledge have been laid down in the Vedas. - Baba Thought for the day as written at Prasanthi Nilayam today8th December 2008 Why is it important to adore God in every being that comes into contact with us? Swami teaches us in crystal clear terms. Sai Inspires - 8th December 2008 The temple is built of brick and mortar. The idol is made of stone. However, you are determined to see in it, the Divine Principle. If you can penetrate behind the stone and see Divinity, how much easier it is to see the Lord who resides in the heart of every human being? Try to realize that first, so that your faith in the idol and temple can be well settled. Revere man, that is the first step towards reverence for God. For, man is prathyaksha (perceptible) and God is paroksha (imperceptible). - Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol 5, Ch 13, Mar 24 1965. " Practise to see the Hand of God in everything that happens. Then, you will never grieve over anything. " - Baba --- THUS SPOKE THE LORD Love is the word, which indicates the striving to realize the falsehood of the many, and the reality of the One. Love identifies; hate separates. Love transposes the self on to another and the two think, speak, and act as one. When love takes in more and more within its fold, more and more entities are rendered as One. When you love me, you love all, for you begin to feel and know and experience that I am in all. ------------------------------- BE DETACHED ---- My Humble Offering 2U My Lord Sai - Art by Divine Light - USA DEAR FATHER MINE Prayer written by Baba and given to Kasturi, 23rd November, 1962 Hoping You'll guide me-this day or the day after-I await your call from day to day.Hoping You'll give darshanbut afraid you may not,I'm all alert from hour to hour. Hoping You'll come to me straightThis very instantI'm watching and praying ever anon.Hoping You'll smile at meat last, though not at first,I'm longingly gazing with thirsty eyes. I shall stand and stay, in deep distressUntil my day of bliss does dawnI am Yours, Your own, though exiled far.Dear Father mine! Do heal Your child. -------- SAI VEDA First of all, one should develop right vision. If the vision is good and pure, the thoughts will also be pure. If you throw a pebble in a lake, it will create ripples. How far will the ripples spread? They will go up to the edge of the lake. In the same way, cast the pebble of good thoughts in the lake of your heart. The ripples of good thoughts will then express themselves through all parts of your body, viz., eyes, ears, hands, legs, etc. When these ripples of good thoughts go to the eyes, you will see only good, when they go to the ears, you will hear only good, when they go to the tongue, you will speak only good, when they go to the legs, the legs will go only to good places. Thus, the lake of the human body becomes full of ripples of pure thoughts, purifying the body from top to toe. ----------------------------- DESTINY -------------- SAI GITA How to keep the mind and the senses under control ?You must watch the working of the mind, from outside it; you should not get involved in it. The faculty of the mind is like a strong current of electricity. It has to be watched from a distance and not contacted or touched. Touch it, you are reduced to ashes. So too, contact and attachment give the chance for the mind to ruin you. The farther you are from it, the better. By skillful methods, you have to make the best use of it for your own welfare. -------------------- GOD WILL APPEAR IN ANY FORM --------- PROPHESIES The advent of this Avatar Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba was uniquely prophesied not only in some ancient books of Indian origin but also in books of other lands and religions. It is found that Baba's horoscope has been extolled in the Indian palmyra "Nadi" scrolls of hundreds of years antiquity, containing prophesies by celebrated sages like Agastha, Brahma, Bhrigu, Buddha, Shuka and Shukra. Since there is said to be remarkable accord amongst the different Nadis interpreted by different and independent readers, we can confidently ascribe genuineness and credibility to those Nadi predictions. The following are the highlights of the prophesies contained in the Nadi scrolls as mentioned in Sai literature by various authors: · He will be a great incarnation of the Godhead Vishnu, Shirdi Sai and several other Gods and Goddesses and will have all powers of God. · He will be born for protecting and propagating Dharma (righteousness) and he will have a mission to fulfil. · He will have healing powers and the power to cure himself by sprinkling water. He will use his healing powers not only for the people of this world, but also for the beings of the other worlds and on the higher planes of existence.(Devas, i.e. celestial gods and goddesses). At times He will take on the illness of the others. · He will have power to extend the life of deserving persons. When the Kali yuga influence grows even more intense, people will see His true might and will acknowledge that He is the Supreme Power. Then mankind will bow to him as a great Emperor and He will be revered as the greatest living being, MAHAPURUSHA, in the world. · Sri Sathya Sai Baba will perform great miracles. · He will also retain youthful look, age notwithstanding. · He will be Brahmachari. He will establish Ashrams, educational and medical institutions. · He will have equal attitude towards all men and women. His glory will spread and many people will get near him. But all cannot have His grace due to past sins. · He will be PREMASWAROOPA, ANANDASWAROOPA, AND JNANASWAROOPA. (Personification of Love, Bliss and Wisdom) · He will show Himself in many places simultaneously, though He will actually be in one place and there will be many divine acts and manifestations. · He will have the power to die whenever He wants. ------------------------- NAMADHU SINDANAIKKU BAGWAN BABAVIN ARULVAKKU POEM - YES! Be confident and will the strength of God's powers within you, and the chariot will descend from the heavenly skies. Then begins the true journey, in which the Lord guides me the every vision of His lover to his only love - God! God! God! - Stories and Parables Stories and Parables quoted from the Discourses of Sri Sathya Sai Baba BEWARE OF THE DEVIL During the exile of the Pandavas, Krishna visited them to enquire about their welfare. He spent a night with them. The Pandavas had to undergo untold suffering during their exile. As Draupadi was also with them, they would keep vigil in turns for one hour each, every night. Krishna also volunteered to keep vigil for one hour. Dharmaja wondered, " When You are the protector of the entire universe, what is the meaning in your standing sentry for an hour to protect us? " Yet he cautioned Krishna: " Krishna, beware of the devil - my brothers and I encounter it every night. On many occasions it has tried to attack us. Therefore, we pray to you not to do a turn in guard duty. You have come to enquire about our welfare. We should not put you in danger. Kindly take rest. " Krishna replied, " Dharmaja, is this what you have understood of my divinity? On the one hand you extol me as the protector of the entire universe and on the other you are apprehensive that I cannot protect myself. You are worried that the demon will harm me. Rest assured that no demon can touch me. Therefore, permit me also to join you all in doing the security duty. " Having completed one hour duty, Krishna sat on a rock and was smiling to himself. It was Arjuna's turn next. He rushed to Krishna, a bit worried that the demon might have attacked him. Seeing Krishna smiling, Arjuna fell at His feet and enquired whether he had vanquished the demon. Krishna replied, " Arjuna, I have never created demons and evil spirits. Then, how can the non-existent demons appear in the forest? The demon you are talking about is not a demon at all. It is just a reflection of the evil qualities within you such as hatred, anger and jealousy. The anger in you is manifesting as the demon. Its power is increasing in proportion to the intensity of anger in you. " The evil qualities of man are the real demons troubling him today. Man is under the mistaken notion that demons exist and that they are responsible for his suffering. This is all nothing but imagination and psychological fear. Only man puts another man to suffering; there is no demon as such. There are no demons and evil spirits in this creation. Arjuna realised the truth of Krishna's words and thereafter did not encounter the demon. Arjuna was beholden to Krishna for the revelation. He fell at his feet and expressed his gratitude. Good and bad are man's own creations. ---------------------- Lingobhava 1 View videoSwami materializing the first Lingam since the 70's. Footage from Shivarathri celebrations Feburay, 1990. " Thunder rolled across the sky. But, the man did not listen The man looked around and said, " God, let me see you. " And the stars shined brightly. But the man did not notice And, the man shouted, " God, show me a miracle. " And, a life was born. But the man did not know. So, the man cried out in despair, " Touch me God, and let me knowyou are here. " Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man. But, the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.
