Atirudra Parayanam (Chanting) for World Peace will begin on Wednesday 12 November 2008 at the Sanatan Dharma Kendra (SDK), 897 E. Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086. The event commemorates 83rd Birthday of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, an auspicious and unique moment marking the completion of 1000 full moon days of the Divine Incarnation to transform humanity through Love & Service.

 

Wednesday November 12 - Saturday , November 22: Starting daily at 6 PM, except Nov 16 and Nov 22 at 9 AM

Kindly note the following information if you are participating in person at the event:

· All those that have signed up to chant are requested to assemble in the hall at least 10-15 min before the program and be seated in designated area for chanting. Please plan for parking delays on Thursdays at SDK.

· All are encouraged to chant the full session rather than partial unless there is a compelling reason for not being able to do so.

· To minimize interruptions during chanting please bring your own water bottle (water will also be available from volunteers).

· No specific dress code is required - please wear modest attire. No tank tops or shorts. Bring a cushion /mat and possibly sweater and socks to feel comfortable chanting

· Booklets with details of program and prayers will be available at the welcome table. If you have signed up to chant, PLEASE pick up a booklet and return it when you leave.

· The overall format of the offering on all the days is: 3 OMs, 3 Gayatri, Ganapathi Prayer, 11x Rudram Chanting, 108 names, 2 min silence, Multifaith prayer, 3 Sai Gayatri, Aarati, Vibhuti, Samastha Loka. On the final day of the offering on Sat Nov 22, peace prayers and mantrapushpam will also be included in prayers. On Wed Nov 12 at 10 AM, there will be invocation worship.

· All are encouraged to participate in the offering. There are no restrictions or limitations to participate in the offering based on barriers of body, faith, etc. Devotees are requested to follow what suits them the best and their conscience.
