Guest guest
It's funny that initially when we got instructions from Appaji to do the Raksha Mantra Japa, initially I did started off by doing it in japa form early in the morning and in the evenings, taking my time in no rush manner and after some weeks when I saw the comments on and heard discussions in the ashram among other devotees, I thought I had the wrong concept and was influenced to go with the majority in speed chanting to make up the target number. But after Appaji's speech on Sunday, I now realise I have to go back to my original method. In a sense I feel a bit disappointed that I didn't go with my initial gut feeling because now I feel as if I've wasted so much time in speed chanting. Anyway, this is a lesson for me. Just a quick opinion I wish to share. Appaji made the point that we should not insist on others doing mantra japa if they don't desire. I think this is very important. Appaji has taught us the importance of this mantra and he has imparted the duty of chanting this mantra upon his devotees, he has initiated us into this mantra japa and it is my belief that we should do our best among ourselves as devotees to attempt to reach that target Appaji has set without trying to influence other non-devotees to assist us in making up numbers (in sense I see that as trying to get others to help us in our responsibility). Appaji has requested us to do this mantra japa for protection as he said, but it also I strongly believe that with this mantra japa if done as per his instruction, there is a greater achievement unknown to us and known only to our beloved Satguru who is aware of our past present and future births.
