Guest guest
Granny Maria who loves Baba so much emailed me what you'll read below...Sai Ram, Simona MariaCrane Sat, 21 Mar 2009 6:41 pm Wilma Bronkey This is about the group guide my husband and I went to India with the only time I've been there in 1995. Its good to hear how she is doing now , just sharing the news M Dear Sai Family, "Big Mama", as Jega calls her, or Mother Dr. Wilma Bronkey is a much smaller Big Mama than she used to be, weighing in at about 101 lbs. She's still a heavyweight when it comes to listening to Swami, though. Smaller Big Mama had an adventure in mid-February, when the Sai sisters were gathered in Grants Pass for our monthly meeting, seva, and instruction from her. Swami stopped the meeting and started talking to her. She told us all to be quiet so she could listen. Swami then told her Preeti needed help, and He wanted her to go to see Preeti and Andy (Ashok) Khemlani in Portland. Mother quickly gathered all the Sisters to drive up with her, a five hour drive in three cars. She helped Preeti and Andy, and met with and blessed quite a number of visitors and gave an impromptu talk directed to the young people. All this was almost too much for her, since she hasn't travelled much since her heart attack last August. She got off schedule with her medications, got sick and needed to stay some extra days in Portland. It took a few weeks for her to regain her appetite, and it is close to back to normal now. Just over a week ago, she got a notion to bake an apple pie from scratch. Her arm got too tired to finish cutting the shortening into the dough, and she had to rest overnight, then in the morning her son Russ helped her finish it, and he sliced all the apples. "It felt very good to be able to do something like what I used to do. I got real happy about it, and I did all the spices and flavorings and everything myself. That was fun. I enjoyed that. There's so little I can do anymore, it just felt good to do it." She continued with an update on Ivan: "Ivan's hip is still bothering him, but there's nothing we have found that can help him at all, except for sitting in his chair. When he sits on the edge of the bed or takes his shoes off, it hurts. It depends on the position he's in, or what he's doing." So, if you feel like sending prayers and blessings to both of them, it would be wonderful. Someone recently brought some special water that Swami had blessed, and they are both doing better. Many people have marveled who visited her recently, that she is still teaching us, by her example at 90 years old, to listen to Swami and follow Him in everything we do. Mother Wilma is looking forward to the 2009 Sai Family Reunion, and hopes to see all of you there. She is letting the Sai Sisters take on more of the tasks of getting ready for it, so she doesn't have to do so much herself. Notices will be emailed and mailed pretty soon. If you would like a paper invitation, please respond to this email, and send your mailing address. Otherwise, you will just get an email notice. If you know of others who would like to be on our email or snail mail lists, or if you would like your name removed, please let me know.
