My Humble Pranams at The Divine Lotus Feet Of The Universal Divine Mother Sai Maa!Atmic Conscjousness is self-evident because it does not require the testimony of the mind to prove its Existence.It is that which gives light to the mind and enables the mind to function.It is there both in the presence and in the absence of thoughts.Thoughts,how ever,are possible only Its presence.It is the source of the mind,its very basis.Sometimes it is also called the 'enduring background of Silence",in the presence of which thoughts come or do not come.Let us return for a moment to our example of the shadow and the tree.In darkness,there is no shadow.Nor is there a shadow at twelve noon,when the sun is at its highest point.Likewise,in absolute ignorance,the mind is not there.Nor is it there when there is total illumination.Absolute ignorance occurs in the deep sleep state,whereas total illumination occurs in the fourth or transcedental state of Pure Consciousness,devoid of anything else.Total illumination would be experienced when one recognizes and experiences his true self.Then there is no reflection,no thoughts.It is thoughts that constitute the mind,which themselves are generated by worldly desires.To be Contd.."Samastha Loka Sukhino Bhavanthu"!AUM SRI SAI RAM!
