Spiritual and service activities were conducted by the nine Bhajan Mandals under the purview of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi of Simhachalam. Special pujas were performed and poor-feeding programmes held on the occasion. Clothes were distributed to the poor and fruits were distributed to inmates of old-age homes and patients at the Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital. A free medical camp was conducted for the benefit of visually challenged girls of the Lakshmipuram School. Bal Vikas classes were conducted for the inmates of the BC Hostel at Muralinagar, according to samithi convener B. Rama Rao. At Sri Sathya Sai City Seva Samithi in MVP Colony, the programme started with chanting of Omkaram 21 times followed by Suprabhatam and Nagara Sankeertana at 4.45 a.m. Volunteers visited King George Hospital, Victoria Government Hospital, Prema Samajam, Lebenshilfe, Government School for the Blind, Central Prison and Leprosy Home and distributed fruits and sweets to the inmates. At noon a Mahanarayana seva was organised in which about 10,000 devotees had their meals, according to samithi convener D.S.N. Murthy. A poet and writer from Bangalore Aduri Srinivas, former Commissioner of Commercial Taxes HLN Dora, former State Seva Dal Coordinator of Zone-I V. Papa Rao, M.S. Prakasa Rao and A.
