And at the Shree Shirdi Sai Mandir (temple) on Toorak Road in Suva, a special evening of Veda chants, bhajans, drama, dance and musical presentation were conducted in honour of the South Indian religious teacher and orator. Spokesman Sandeep Chauhan said it was a commemoration of Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings about peace and good human values. “The message – hands are holier than lips that pray – is important. Sai Baba stressed the importance of educare in human values (EHV). His teachings are universal.” “On education, he advocated the need to inculcate human values into the teaching of young children. And we need to promote positive messages, rather than negatives ones in the school curriculum,” said Chauhan.
