The first step is service to the Sadguru (preceptor) with full faith and submission. When the word "horse" is heard, the form of the horse, presents itself before the mind. Similarly, to an aspirant, when the word "Brahman" is uttered, the nature of "Brahman" should come into his/her consciousness.
