iam a new entrant to the wonderful world of saibaba news....

among all the spiritual questions i think..the one that baffles me the most is the relationship between gratitude..,humbleness and strong or strength... can these qualities coexist in a man..?.normally a person who is humble is suppssed to b week...no stength to fight... the lifes battle...so because he is weak...he manuplates and pretends to b humble...same is the case with gratitude...a grateful person...in real life...pretends to b humble and gets the maximum out of a given situation..can a strong character like subash chandra bose or swami vivekananda

or any other personalitiey also show the qualities of gratitide and humbleness.,compassion and full of joy and happiness..normally s strong character is associated with arrogance and pride,,,,

can any one of my sai friends help me out with this enquiry...or maybe lord saibaba will come to my rescue..

RE: [saibabanews] Gratitude, humbleness, strength

Sairam,

Mahathma Gandhi is an example of humbleness, gratitude and strong with strength

which resulted in Britishers leave India.Physical strength may be associated

with pride and arrogance but spiritual and mental strength is associated with

greatness, goodness and universal love to strengthen the bonds among the humanity

which gives good results for universal peace and goodwill.

My Dear SaiRam Brother,

You are very much wrong. Only a strong person will be really capable of showing

his humility. The weak person shows his weakness by being humble, and not

vice-versa.

Think twice and come to a decision.

Your SaiRam Brother,

K. S.Ananda Kumar.

Re: [saibabanews] Gratitude, humbleness, strength

Om Sai Ram,

First welcome to Sai baba news group.

To your question-

What is strength is it having mussels or is it wisdom? In some of the

fundamental theories of Bagawan Sai baba is Righteousness .What is this big

word? this explains a straight man. A person who is riteous doesn't fight what

for? it's a waste of time he'll walk away from calamities.

Try and gain wisdom by reading and understanding and putting into practice.

Prema vahini is good to start with.

At this high level of understanding you will not need to go to people., people

will come to you.

Om Sri Sai Ram.

Re: [saibabanews] Gratitude, humbleness, strength

Brother,

I feel these thoughts / doubts are common in all spiritual seekers.

Very personal suggession:-

- Please read & understand Bhagawath Gita (I am sure you might have read- still

analise the charactors in it).

- Bhagawan has mentioned - His Life is His Message. Being new to this fold

please understand Swami's Life, who is physically present amongnst us to get rid

of our doubts by experiencing.

gratitude.., humbleness and strong or strength... these qualities coexist in a

man.

Have blissful time ever.

Love

Suresh

Re: [saibabanews] Gratitude, humbleness, strength

Sai Ram Dear Ramesh

There are examples of people in whom all good qualities co-exist

Did you hear about Mahatma Gandhi, even when he was dying, he said don't punish

the killer. He was very powerful and the whole nation was behind him. How much

humiliation he suffered when he was in South Africa ??. His one word was enough

to turn the whole freedom movement to turn it violent, but he choose to fight

British with peace as a weapon. There were pressures from other leaders to

fight violent against British. But, he did not listen to any one.

Come, and experience the services rendered by devotees at Prashanti. There are

people from various walks of life, from a simple man to a very filthy business

man, retired army and defence personnel, super speciality doctors, you name the

profession they are there. They are highly influential, powerful (physically

and also spiritually)

They are very humble, down to earth..Every body forgets what they are. They know

nothing except Swamy and service to human beings. The kind of service they

render is totally self less. They have all the positive qualities you are

looking for.

Like any other issue, there may be some exceptions. But it is really.....real.

RE: [saibabanews] Gratitude, humbleness, strength

Brother Ramesh Menon,

You have asked very good questions. Thank you. Please post your messages once

the answers are being unravelled to you.

I'm a pianist. I know I cannot succeed by being arrogant. I have to be honest

about my abilities. I think this will naturally bring out my humility. I must be

thankful or show gratitude to those who are helping me succeed in my career as a

pianist such as my teacher or people who are giving me opportunity to perform.

I am sure this is a fact if we want to pursue any discipline. That does not mean

we are pretending to be grateful or humble. We got to have these qualities if we

have to succeed at all in any field.

I think pride is not a bad thing in the sense that we have to be proud of our

culture or country etc. This comes out in anyone who are confident about who or

what they are. From what I have read about Swami Vivekananda or S C Bose, these

were people who were very proud of their country and culture. At the same time

they were very honest and did a lot of service. Swami Vivekananda used to even

clean dirty streets. He didn't think that doing such work was beneath him. That

shows he was very humble.

I am sure lots can be said about these topics. I look forward to hearing more

from other Sisters and Brothers in this group.

Vani.

Re: [saibabanews] Gratitude, humbleness, strength

Sai Ram

Dear brother,

I agree that you are seeing the microscopic view of a persons qualities or

rather what has driven him to be good. But if you have to see it in the most

simplest of manner, u have to see the intention and clarity of deeds. There are

people who do good deeds because they are afraid to commit any sin, they are

afraid of the consequences. And there are people who do good, irrespective of

their gains, popularity, or any selfish motives. They feel that their help or

their behaviour will make a difference to atleast one person. And that is the

strength. That is true humility.

And talking about pretence of being humble and grateful, i beleive that it

cannot hide for long . Genuinity wins till the end. A person who pretends to be

humble just because he cannot fight will one day show up his weakness.

This is my view brother,

And to end it, Swami knows everything, So a person can make others beleive that

he is virtuous, but not his soul n not God, who is within you every

millisecond.
