Sai Ram Soumendra,

A very good question about speed of Gayatri Mantra chant. Swami says chant at any speed with generates devotion in your heart for the Divine Mother. Swamis also says that when a child crys for his mother she responds immedaitely and never says - I am not responding since you are wailing too fast or out of tune. The best speed - is the one which gives you peace and happiness and this comes when you are able to clearly hear and understand everything that you are chanting.

I do not know why you are feeling heavy after the chanting, Maybe it is the speed that is dazing you, but it should go if you chant at a normal pace of chanting where every word is clear. Don't aim for quantity - aspire for QUALITY.

Sai Ram brother's and sister's .

I thought of doing Navarathri sadhana starting with Gayatri mantra 108 times and then 1008 Lalitha Shasranaam. I love chanting Gayatri mantra but I have some serious sadhana queries - like when I chant 108 times Gayatri mantra it usually takes 45 minutes but if it is faster it is 30 min .Now some says we shouldn't chant Gayatri mantra at high speed because of pronunciation as it should be accurate. Secondly after chanting Gayatri mantra my head becomes heavy and then there is surge of inexplicable energy but later during the day I feel tired . I tried doing Aum Sri Sai Ram Sadhana in that mantra I have experienced different kind of bliss, as if my mouth is full of honey and I become emotional. I feel more balanced and I could perceive things which I never did before and my speech is in total control.

So my question is shoudl I chant mentally the Gayatri mantra and then chant Lalitha Shasranaam . Lalitha Shasranaam takes more than a hour to chant and it says we must chant this mantra during Navarathri. Navarathri is the best time for doing Sadhana as Mother bless you immensely both spiritually as well as materially.WE all shoud do some Sadhana during this period .

Please bsother's and sister's let us share some experiences with sadhana as it will be benefical for all > Navarathi is next Saturday Sep 19.

Your experinces and answers will be greatly appreciated.

May Lord Sri Sathya Sai Bless us all

Dear Sai Ram Brother, There is nothing like - depending on other's experiences. Everyone has different experiences depending on his spiritual level. No comparison please. Bhagawan has informed that there is no specific time for Gayatri mantra. The point is it must be performed with devotion and sincerity. Sometimes we may not perform in the proper method. Not every one is blessed in the spiritual field. There is nothing like which one should be performed Gayatri Mantra or Lalitha Sahasranama etc., Whichever is convenient to you, please follow it. Too many practices

leave us without much time for our daily life. Do all practices as long these permit you. These practices must be limited and not numerous. If you get bliss and peace with any one mantra, it is sufficient. I know people and devotees start chanting Gayatri mantra each and every time they have leisure. If possible, please follow that practice. You can request - h2h. to clarify your doubts officially with our Sri Satya Sai Sadhana Trust. Wish you all the Best. With Best Regards, Your SaiRam Brother.--- On Sun, 13/9/09, Soumendra Bhattacharjee <soumendra_toronto wrote:Soumendra Bhattacharjee <soumendra_toronto[saibabanews] Navarathri

Om Sri Sai Ram

Dear Brother Soumendra

It must be Universal Consciousness that is calling us all to think and do the same way. At our Temple we are starting the Navaratrti celebrations with Lalita Sahasranaama and Gayatri chanting on th 19th, and Gayatri Homam the next day AM.GAYATRI is considered as the Monarch of all Mantras. Chandas or metering properly is important. Please download from Swami's chanting and that is the right metereing, not any CD that you can buy, with their own Ragaas.

The highest energy from the Universal Consciousness is between 3:30-4:30 PM. Gayatri also needs to be chanted 3 times a day to tap the Cosmic energy into you. The maximum energy that you get is by chanting in the Brahma muhurtam time. The whole Universe is pervaded with intense Shakti energy during the Navaraatri time, and mother is extolled in many forms, the ADI PARAASHAKTI Raja Rajeswari Ammavaru.

You can take any order to chant Lalita Sahasranamam and Gayatri. Most important is the Shradha that can go with it. If you chant Gayatri alone, the 24 Beeja Aksharaas that are in that chanting includes, Ganesha, Brahma, Vishnu, Maheswara, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Savitri, Satyavati, Agni and many more. That is why this is the monarch of all mantras.

Chanted once a day, 108 times gives energy

Chanted 10 x 108, times a day removes all sins

Chanting 100 x 108 japa of gayatri removes sins of all lives times, and makes all your sankalpas fructify in 3 years and Jeevan mukti is attained.

Since this many times of chantingin the mundane life is not possible, we accumulate the siddhis over many life times.

Regarding the nectarine effect of Sai Nama Smarana, it is possible as Swami is nectar himself.Swami knows our limitations. In an interview granted by Swami to all of us, doctors on November 26th, 2002, Swami was asked if we should chant SAI GAYATRI or GAYATRI mantra. Swami said any thing is fine, and it depends upon the individual. Swami never said that we have to do this many times. When someone asked Swami said, " You can do odd numbers like multiples of 3, 9 and so on". Sai Ram
