Guest guest
From mantras to lucky charms, anxious students do it all The Times of India, Cities; 28 May 2009, Anisha Mehta, TNN (Has sent to the groups in short) AHMEDABAD: Just before the clock strikes 10 this morning, Shachi Mehta and her family will gather around the computer and chant a few mantras before she hits the enter button on her computer to know her class XII results, online. "It is the last thing my family and I can do to usher in good luck," she quips. Right from praying, fasting to visiting temples and astrologers, parents and students in the city are doing everything under the sun to ensure a good result. "And why not?" says Juveria Maniar, parent of a class XII student. "I have been fasting for my daughter to support her. I did so when she was appearing for her exams too. This will help her get the marks she deserves. It's an extension of a parent's love," she adds. While some take the religious road, some have their lucky charms to lend them support. Supreet Madaan from St Kabir School is confident to achieve a good result. "My seat number for board exams was 453234, which adds up to my lucky number three. I hope that it reflects in my result," she says. As for Karan Shah from St Xavier's Loyola, a photo of Sai Baba, which he will carry to school, will help him get good grades. "The photo has helped me in all my exams and I consider it to be my lucky charm," he affirms. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Cities/From-mantras-to-lucky-charms-anxious-students-do-it-all/articleshow/4586239.cms No virus found in this outgoing messageChecked by PC Tools AntiVirus (5.0.1.1 - 10.100.138).http://www.pctools.com/free-antivirus/
