BJP will win polls: Advani

Puttaparthi (Anantapur), Nov. 5: The Opposition leader in the Lok Sabha and BJP national leader, Mr L.K. Advani, said that Americans had elected Mr Barack Obama, seeking a change and added that Indians were also seeking a change and would elect the BJP whenever elections were organised.

Mr Advani visited Puttaparthi on Wednesday for darshan of Sri Satya Sai Baba. Speaking to newsmen, he said that Mr Obama was elected with a huge majority as elections were held in a democratic and peaceful manner in America.

Mr Advani said that there was a responsibility on the government to organise elections in a peaceful manner. He said that the political situation was favourable to the BJP and expressed confidence that the party would get a majority whenever elections were organised.

Answering a query on a poll alliance with the Praja Rajyam in the state, Mr Advani said that talks were being held on regional issues and added that the BJP would contest alone if an alliance was not reached. Mr Advani, along with family members, received blessings from Sri Satya Sai Baba. He reached Puttaparthi from Tirupati in a special aircraft and went to the guest house. Sai Baba gave a special interview to Mr Advani for about 40 minutes and blessed him.
