Selva in short) is below on how to tap subtle positive energy for the body, mind and spirit. ***** A lady from Penang wanted to know whether her ideal house on the island is Vasthu Sastra compliant. Her ringgit bungalow overlooks the sea at Penang bridge. While such raised locations with panoramic views are favourable, owners should be sensitive to the land contours because most hilltop properties are not on level land. Common faults found on such sites are driveways sloping towards the west or south, land on different levels, and a garden lower than the house structure. All these are inauspicious. In Vasthu, a plot should be square or rectangular and if there is a depression in the plot, it should be in the north, east and north-east areas. Depressions in these areas will bring prosperity, happiness and good health to the occupants. Why? This is because the slope in these three areas will allow uninterrupted flows of subtle beneficial energy into the plot and house. Remember, in Vasthu, energy flows into the plot from the north-east and settles in the south-west quadrant. But if the north, east and north-east quadrants have a raised ground, higher than the western and southern quadrants, it will bring financial and health problems to the users. So elevated land should be in the south, west and south-west quadrants. If these areas are depressed, it will bring harmful effects to the residents because the energy that should be stored in the southern and western areas escapes in the depression. There are remedies. If the south/west or south-west quadrants have depressions, they should be filled with earth to bring the land level. And if the north/east or north-east quadrants are raised, earth there should be cut off so that the land is level or slightly depressed. The same should be observed in the interior of the house particularly properties which have split levels. Vasthu is not against elevated or depressed ground levels, but they must be in the correct quadrants for the dwellers to enjoy peace, prosperity, good health and happiness. Vasthu Sastra (Indian feng shui) is an more than 5,000-year old science of architecture which assures a dweller health, prosperity, happiness, love, bliss and peace of mind. It can be applied in modern times. Swami in many His Discourses pay attention to the Sastras and to the human life style according to them.
