Guest guest
Puttaparthi Newsletter November 14th Swami gave discourse yesterday evening in mandir Yesterday evening while the bhajans were going on after a few bhajans. There was a speech by a devotee from inside mandir in Sai Kulwant Hall. He talked about the importance of Namasmarana (chanting Bhagawans name). He narrated an incident about how a foreigner once asked him how he should chant Swami's name. And how he was not good at pronouncing Sanskrit names so he finally decided to just say, " Swami I love you " . He ended the speech by saying it not about what you say or how you say it, you chanting God's name is all that matters. After his speech at 5:35 pm Swami gave a discourse in which Swami explained why Akhanda Bhajan is conducted every year in Puttaparthi. Swami said that devotees should always chant God's Name no matter what work they do. All ways think of the Divine Bhagawan and chant his name. No matter what work you do dedicate that work to Swami. Swami also gave an example by telling a story about how a calf was transformed into human form by just chanting the Lords name. And how chanting Bhagawans name can transform even an animal into a Human form, which is the Divine gift of God. Swami said that devotees worry too much about the tune and the rhythm of the Namasmarana. Swami said that it doesn't matter how you chant Lords name. Only thing that matters is if you chant lords name with sincerity and purity. Swami said that Akhanda Bhajan is conducted every year to remind devotees that you should think of God all the time and Chant his name all the time not matter what you do. The discourse was 45 minutes long and Swami gave the discourse from inside mandir in Sai Kulwant Hall. After the discourse aarathi began after which prasadam was distributed to all the devotees in Sai Kulwant Hall. Ending the events for the day. http://www.puttaparthilive.com
