Namaste Chandan,

 

You are right that faith and devotion are more important than elaborate

rituals. Here's a simple one:

 

Place some offerings of fruit, sweets, milk, honey, rosewater, yoghurt,

ghee lamp and incense in front of a Lord Shiva murti on the ltar. Hold

the mala in your hand while chanting the universal mantra of Om Namah

Shivaya over the beads and dabbing each with sandalwood oil.
