HOW TO LOVE GOD

(Chapter 5)- continuation -God is all loving,

merciful and compassionate. He will forgive you a

million times or even a trillion times, if necessary. Time and time

again, He will forgive and take you in His arms again. Do not see the

ugliness in the world, do not see the sorrows, concentrate only on the beauty, the bliss and the goodness. If there is enough love and faith in you, then you will fail to feel the sorrow, distress and the heartache. If you love God enough, all the negative aspects will be overshadowed and painted over with bliss from Him as if they never existed and never ever will exist. The only requisite is loving God totally and completely, and having that faith which does not shake, that faith which does not waver, that is itself, God.Winning God's heart, winning His love, gaining His presence and exacting His response is a major hurdle. It is an incredible problem to surmount, a crucial mountain

to scale, but once accomplished, He is an absolute darling. He was and

is always, the same. It is we who fail to apprehend His innate love.

The changes come from within us, in

our attitudes, in how we view life, the world, God and ourselves. Once

we transform, the obstacles are removed, the mirror is cleansed of the

layers of dust hiding our reflection from us, veiling divinity from us. Once the cover is removed, the reflection is seen and we can see the divinity within and outside. Once He enter your life, it will become one long stream of miracles and unbelievable coincidence after coincidence will be witnessed, a wonderful life, a stupendous life.You may argue that you cannot be alone with the divine, that you enjoy company, but the reality is that you always have and are always alone. Alone, one is born, and alone, one dies with no one to accompany him, even on the last journey. If you enquire deeply, you can see that essentially, despite being surrounded

by loving families and society, you are all alone. You are a single

solid entity and in your heart of hearts, there is just you and God.

Even whilst engaged in worldly affairs, there should be just you and Him. All else is of no consequence. The point may be forwarded that the reality we live in is tangible and very real and that one has to act and move in it. That is very true but do not involve your mind and more specifically, your heart, in any of the worldly dealings. The resolution to carry this out takes effort, mind control and love.It is difficult for us to grasp these principles because we are governed by circumstance and environment, not to mention, the character and habits formed through many lives. Mankind's only failing is that he allows himself to be swayed by the whims of fortune. The only solution is to take refuge

in the Lord. Once that is accomplished, once you understand that everything can be overcome with this one answer, faith in God, love for God, then all is won.In

every situation that you are faced with in life, at every cornerstone, at every cross road, every parting of company and renewing of relationships, in every act and aspect, seek His advice, and only His advice. There is no need to go elsewhere seeking here and

there, 'What shall I do?' Only ask Him, that is enough, and He will respond and you will receive the best advice possible because He is the only one who truly has your interests at heart. If you become totally dependent upon Him, literally and completely, then and then only will He respond to your prayers and be your guide and guardian.Control desires and eradicate desires. The fundamental truth is that every

single desire and thought that is generated in our minds creates an

aura, an energy, and that desire, that thought must be fulfilled some

time, at some point. It must take form and become true, become a reality. Later on, you may find that the every desire that was so vital and important is no longer acceptable or even desirable to you. In fact, it may well be the complete reverse and have become utterly detestable to you.

Nevertheless, the desire must be personified and fulfilled, and you may find that it has become an irksome liability; nevertheless, it has to take form and reality. To defuse the impressions that have been previously formed by the mind, one must let go and surrender. Only then will all impressions, images and formulations be negated.When once one begins to live in the divine presence, without any of the negative qualities like anger, revenge or malice, then the miracle happens where by due to your purity, all that is leveled at you is instantly returned to the sender. All that is negatively aimed at you or crosses your path goes back to where it comes from, having no effect whatsoever on you. This is the greatness of devotion, of loving Him, of His protection, grace and mercy. It is the miracle of devotion. It is what happens when the innate divinity manifests itself in a person's heart.You may contest that 'I will do it later' and that love of God is 'something that can be taken

up later on in life' or maybe, ten years from now, maybe next life, or maybe not at all. After all, we are too busy now. However, life is short and there is no guarantee that you will even be here tomorrow. In fact, there is no surety that you will be here the next instant. There is no guarantee that you will be healthy or in command of your

faculties tomorrow. You may fall ill today, so take this opportunity, this instant, this second, now, and use it to love Him, to become united with Him. The form, a body is needed to express the love for without a human body, you cannot do anything. This body is a great gift of grace, a tremendous opportunity and chance that comes but once over many lifetimes. Animals and plants cannot formulate thought, debate or decide in this manner. This is a gift which only humans have been blessed with.Now, this every moment,

this instant alone, is the time to take to this trail, to discover the

golden key to His heart. Tomorrow, the possibility, fortune may not be

there for you for it may be taken from your grasp. Tomorrow, you may

not have the health or wealth. Tomorrow, circumstances may be such that

the bent of you mind may alter completely and may not be as amenable as today. Tomorrow, you may well become inextricably entangled in material pursuits and you will lose Him and He you. You may be helpless to exercise any control over your life and mind, and perhaps, you may have to begin again in another time, another birth, another lifetime, or another universe. How do you think He feels having to wait, time after time, birth after birth, universe after universe? Take hold of this providence with both hands, this golden opportunity today, and start the journey, travel the path and attain the entrance to His heart.The Lord says again and again that He longs to reside in the heart, fragrant with the incense of fine virtues, merciful intentions and

compassionate emotions. He longs to live in such a heart but how many

of us try to make our hearts worthy of Him, of His presence? The whole

of life and living is to achieve that alone for only then, can the key to His heart be won. If you have given Him the key to your heart, then He will automatically give you the key to His.- to continue -(From : THE KEY TO GOD'S HEART by R
