Guest guest
Nobody is free to live as the impulses prompt him or her. Even these impulses are the products of unseen and unknown impacts of previous lives, and the pressures – social, cultural and economic – of this life. The impulse for action and the nature of the actions are therefore determined by various hidden factors. True discipline lies in mastery over the intellect, the mind and the senses. Every thought should be rigorously examined – can it promote love, joy, peace in us, the society, the nation and the world? Thoughts arise from bursts of emotion or passion. They must be tested and rejected if they are likely to bring evil or ill-fame later if acted upon.
