Guest guest
AUM SAI RAM Light is Divine. The blessed souls who find a chosen Guru (Preceptor) in their lifetime and who diligently follow his teachings do ultimately break through the darkness of ignorance and see the magnificence of Light. In this context, I read a simple but significant story about the meaning of LIGHT in a tattered and outdated Woman magazine, the other day while I was waiting at the hairdresser for a trim. I feel I cannot keep it for myself. It is definitely meant for sharing because stories like these do not just fall from the sky…they are God sent purposely to stimulate one's grey cells. As the story unfolds, this 82 year old wise and quick-witted preceptor, Guru Ji, gathered all his students one evening under his veranda. Twilight was slowly creeping in and they all sat in silence, absorbed in the mystery of Nature. Day had ended and night had begun. Guru Ji then asked his students- "Can you tell the exact moment when night ends and day begins?" "When it is light enough to tell a woman from a man" earnestly answered a lad. "No, Guru Ji, when it is light enough to tell a buffalo from a cow!" Yet another replied "Night ends and day starts when there is enough light to tell a mango tree from a lychee tree." "No! No! You are all wrong" "What is the correct answer, Guru Ji? Please tell" implored the students. Guru Ji then explained in his usual gentle manner- "Night ends and day begins, boys, when from a distance you see a stranger approaching and you think that he is your brother. There is absolute love and peace in your heart. This is the moment when Light dawns!"
