must strive to diagnose your own character and discover the faults that

are infesting it; do not try to analyse the character of others and

seek to spot their defects. This self-examination is very necessary to

bring to light the defects that might undermine one's spiritual career.

Man differs from man in this struggle against the inner foes. Each gets

the result that his Sadhana (spiritual exercise) deserves, that his

acts in this and previous births deserve. In the spiritual path, each

one has to move forward from where he already is, in his own pace, in

the light of the lamp which each one holds in his own hand.
