SAI RAM,

No doubt this prayer is very commonly used for surrendering to God. Well, there is nothing extraordinary about it. It is not as if we are only relative of God. In fact, we are ourselves God. The Upanishadic Mahavakyas declare " Aham Brhmasmi (I am Brahman), Tatwamasi (You are that Supreme Consciousness) etc. etc. The Upanishads also aver that all that exists here is Brahman only (Sarvam Khalu Idam Brahma). In fact, God alone exists and there is nothing other than God here. (Poornamadah poornamidam poornaat poornamudatchyate poornasya poornamadaya poornameve Avasishyati). All of us are pure Atman( the Big I). Swamy very often quotes this Vedic Mantra, Ekam sat viprah bahuda vadanti meaning " Truth is one but realized pople talk of it differently " . Because of our ignorance, we identify ourself with our body, mind and intellect. As a result, the ego (which is the small'i " ) rules us. Ego or jivahood is the reflection of Atman in the mind. For those who are followers of Dwaita school of philosophy , jivatma and Paramatma are different. For them this prayer is more significant. The Advaitins do not give much importance to this Stotra.

sairam Such a fantastic chanting this one !! How it impacts the person is what comes to my mind first .

The 'I ' ( ego) is whole heartedly and with full devotion and surrender toGOD .. saying this .

When One keeps on pronouncing the beautiful sanskrit version ( sanskrit being the divine language ) . That very sound , with

the inner realisation of the meaning ... simply BINDS US WITH BEAUTIFUL GOLDEN ROPE OF ASTRAL PRANIC TEXTURE!

We , it simply means to me ,,.. are realtive of GOD ... !

NOW IMAGINE THE BENEFIT . sairam sairam sairam
