To achieve success, discipline is indispensable. If we want to achieve

success in the world, we must have self-confidence and then self-

sacrifice. If we do not possess these three things, our life will be

meaningless. When a river flows erratically, we construct a dam,

change its course, and divert it usefully and rightfully before it

flows into the ocean. So too, all our ideas which are recklessly and

aimlessly going their own way, should be channelled by constructing the

dam of discipline. They should be made to take the form of sacrifice,

and flow into the ocean of `Atmaviswasa', or faith in one's self. We

must regard it as absolutely essential to attain the three qualities –

sacrifice, self-confidence and discipline.
