Riyadh report-----

It was Thursday ….13th December 2007-- a

beautiful evening with the moon crescent signing high

up in the sky. And the devotees of Riyadh witnessed a

spell bound evening in the Riyadh Sai Center .

Sai Majlis (on terrace) was decorated with lots of

care & craftsman. Dozens of hand made stars &

beautiful angels were hanging from the roof. A 3feet

Snowman (handmade) was standing in a corner to welcome

the devotees. In the other corner 5feet Christmas tree

was dazzling with lights and all the hangings. And Lo

- - in the center our Swami was sitting in the snow.

Yes snow!!!!!!!! !! The dias for swami was well

decorated with cottons so that it was giving a feeling

of real cold & icy Christmas night. 3 angels from

Australia (brought from Australia by Sis. NIJI KHAM)

were standing in the snow. A ceramic nativity set from

Australia was decorated in one side of the

dias.Another side Swami’s chair was their. And in

the centre our Swami was looking at us. This is a new

photograph of Swami brought recently from India by our

National Chair Person Bro Packy. It is extraordinarily

lively photograph.

Exactly at 7PM the Christmas programme started with

3-OMS. The bhajan singers and the choir group were

standing at both sides of the dias. All were wearing

white dresses to compliment the snow. On top of it ,

the Santa hat (made by Maheswary aunty with lots of

love)on each one of the group was adding the beauty of

the whole atmosphere. Our Sai Majlis was full with

about 100 devotees (including children). The bhajan

started with “Ganesha, the elephant faced

lord….†lead by our National Chair Person

Bro.Packy. Total 16 English bhajans were sung followed

by 14 carols. The total programme was in English

including aarathi. Two carols sung by only children

standing around the snow man. Solo carols sung by Bro

Kham,Sis.Niji and Lavina ( d/o Bro. Suresh

Iyengar). The choir group had a lot of practice before

the function lead by Bro.Kham.

We Riyadh Sai Family thank you---

Bro.Kham for all the effort you have put……

Sis Niji for bringing the things all the way from

Australia .

Bhajan Guru Bro.Ravi Shankar & Bro. Mridul for the

music.

And each-one who worked hard behind the screen to

decorate our Sai Majlis,

to prepare the booklet, making the snow-man, making

Santa-hats, decorating Christmas tree…………etc

& made all the arrangements to make the evening a

grand success.

After aarathi grape juice (insignia of wine) &

biscuits were distributed in a Christian manner by

uncle Nada with priest costume. .The cross which was

hanging from his neck had come from Jerusalem . It was

followed by dinner.

After the bhajans a short story was narrated by

Sis.Mythelli from the book “children’s Bibleâ€.

This story was narrated by Jesus himself. The morale

of the story is that whenever you turn to God (even if

it is late)….God welcomes you.

We, all the devotees returned home with a smile on

our face.

We end our 43rd posting here with these Divine

Words----

Once in Prasanthi Nilayam a Primary School student

asked Swami very Innocently as to why He was never

angry and always smiling, Swami smilingly said "

Whenever I appear to anyone to be upset or angry,It is

only my Love in another form. I do not and never have

even the smallest iota of anger in Me " .

With lots of regards

Renuka Patra
