Guest guest
AUM SAI RAM "There was once a Queen who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of Peace. Many renowned artists, amongst others, participated in the contest. At the end of the day, the Queen looked at all the pictures. There were only two which she really liked, and she had the difficult task of choosing one of them. One of the pictures was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds .Those who saw the picture opined that it was a perfect picture of Peace. The other picture had mountains too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. Definitely, this did not look peaceful at all. However, when the Queen looked closely, she saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush, a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird in her cosy nest and, in absolute peace. The Queen was extremely pleased with the second picture and the artist who produced the master piece won the prize. The Queen wisely explained to all: "Peace does not mean a place where there is no noise, no trouble, no worry and no problem. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of PEACE." A lesson to retain and to remember when tsunami threatens to wipe us off from the surface of the earth.
