One of our brothers mailed the following question and my reply(*) is as what you see below his mail. Please read it when time permits.

(*)As such, the reply is only a small collection of what Baba has told at various times on 'Service', in his discourses. What do I know myself?

when love gets detached from worldly attachments and gets directed to seva, it may glorify the true love.Regards...... .........

Service is the best cure for egoism. - Baba says.

Even if you cannot perform any other kind of worship or sadhana, service to society will help you to sanctify your life. Of the nine forms of devotion, Seva (service) is the Most Important. Through service, complete surrender of the self can be achieved.

Daya or compassion is not mere display of kindness or sympathy to someone in distress. It calls for complete identification with the suffering experienced by another and relieving that suffering as a means of relieving the agony experienced by oneself... When any service or help is rendered to anyone, this is the spirit in which it should be done. You must feel you are helping yourself when you are helping another.

If you do Good to Society and Help others in Society and be a Role Model for everyone, then Lord's Grace will come to you without asking, Everyone's Dharma must be to do Good to Society, Whatever Good you do will always be given back to you many many many fold. Dharma to Dharmaraja meant the same things that Swami has always said before - Right Living, Doing Good to Society and Respect to Elders. Attachment and hatred - these are the greatest enemies of progress in any scheme of social service, why, in any scheme of work. If the individual is deluded into believing that he is saving others, then woe be to him, for, there is no other at all. All are One; one man's sorrow is every one's sorrow. How is the mind to be purified? Through service to society with dedication and identification with everyone. You have to cultivate this feeling of Ekatmabhaava (oneness with all). By engaging yourselves in service, you develop this sense of oneness. In this context, the supreme importance of love should be recognized. Love is your true nature. But modern man, in his preoccupation with the world of external phenomena, is failing to discover his own true nature. Of what avail is all the knowledge about the physical world if a man does not know what he really is? Love is the basis for this self-discovery. Love is the means and love is the proof.
