Devotion!

The Power of Karma.

The Soul, which is Dharma,

The Knowledgement of Omniscient,

Is sufficient to dispel your ignorance,

And entice your mind towards

wisdom and devotion.

Devotion, which flows like Ganges,

When there is overwhemlming emotion.

The Ganges purifies your thoughts and soul

And you enter the world of devotion.

A world, which is a test of your

temptation and determination,

A world where Maya (illusion) lures you,

To forsake your path of righteousness,

It's a world where only your

faith and belief in your Sadguru,

Helps you to steer away from the

course of embracing Maya.

The fruit relished in this world is self-realization.

Which may ultimately lead to His realization

Devotion means unflinching faith and love in God or

Guru. Until, unless the faith is mixed with love, it

is difficult to sustain it all the time. Some times,

in difficult situations, the faith is put to severe

trials. This can be seen in the lives of the great

saints and sages. Because of their unshakable love in

God, they survived through the trials without losing

the balance. The love for Guru can be for the

physical form or for the change less essence present

behind the physical frame. Sri Sai mentions about both

in his teachings. Sai advises his devotees about

seeing his (Sai's) form in the living beings (Bhakti),

meditating on the essence behind the form (Jnanam). It

is very important to have faith in Guru and his

teachings. If some thing goes in a different way,

other than expected, it does not deny the Grace of the

Guru. Acceptance of results for the actions (after

doing one's personal best) is the basis of faith. For

the heart breaking and difficult problems of life,

there may not be ready made answers. But, it is vital

in those times to hold on to the torch of Faith, other

wise there is every chance to fall into the deep abyss

of doubting mind.

The doubting mind never allows anyone to establish in

any thing. A great saint in one of his compositions

ironically laments, " What can I do with my tricky

mind? If some thing goes rightly, I feel that it is

mainly because of my effort and partly because

of God's grace; if some thing goes wrong, I feel that

mainly it is due to your lack of Grace and partly due

to my lack of proper effort. Kindly show Grace on me

and make my mind steady on your Lotus feet in both

pleasure and pain " .

Experiences show that intellectual endeavours,

howsoever potent and mighty they may seem, have not

catapulated or thrown or raised any human being to

spiritual heights. History shows that the highest

spiritual masters are those who were uneducated in

formal sense. For example, Ramkrishna Paramhans, Shri

Shirdi Sai, Namdev, Tukaram,Paltu Maharaj etc. It

obviously means that there is something self-limited

in the intellectualism in the path of spiritual

progress.

All that the spiritual masters learnt in their life

and spread among others is 'Bhakti' or devotion.

" Bhakti " means love of God. Since God is not sitting

in a throne like an individual, therefore, how to love

Him. The answer is that God is in everyone and if one

has the capacity to love others, he is doing real

devotion. Even doing all the worship, yoga, pranaayaam

(breath control) etc.,for one's own improvement is not

'Bhakti'. It is one activity for fulfilling

spiritual/occult ambition like any other ambition.

People in the path of devotion develop certain

qualities that manifest in their daily life

activities. They become humble, sacrificing, more

universal and sensitive to the pain of others.

They love Baba and flow in that stream unknowingly

carrying along with them all that come in their

contact. They don't try to pray to Baba for the

fulfillment of any material requirements. Baba has a

role to play to lead them ultimately to the correct

path and correct goal. They have nothing to prove and,

therefore, do not allow 'ego' to assert itself. This

is the correct path towards Baba.

Shri Sai does not make things difficult for anyone. We

at times, suffer the result of our past actions.

Please pray to Him sincerely. He only helps, faith

without patience is not consistent.

Human beings will always have problems in one aspect

of life or the other, whether they are big or small,

whether they are evil or pure. All such sufferings are

correlated to earlier life's action plus

this life's. It is better to remember God more in

happier times than in sorrow, as Saint Kabir said.

For those who want to come closer to Baba the only way

is, to keep unshakable faith in Him under all

circumstances. But, some people come to Sadguru with

the desire of worldly gains or exhibit their

devotion with such expectations in their heart.

Sometimes, when their desires are not fulfilled or

when they have to suffer consequences of their own

past actions they tend to lose their faith. In the

time of any Avtar or Sadguru every wish of every man

was never fulfilled. Sadguru never fulfills those

desires, which would become barrier in bringing them

closer to God. There is His hand behind unfulfillment

of such desires. Therefore, one who can see Baba both,

in pleasure and pain, is the true devotee. The

pleasure seekers are bound to deviate from the path.

Baba is every where just feel him and keep on saying

`Om Sai Ram' to whom so ever you meet.

OM SAI SRI SAI JAI JAI SAI!!! Let us pray at the lotus

feet of Bhagwan Baba who is the incarnation of all

gods and protector of all, to show mercy on us, and

increase our devotion towards him

Let us pray Shri Sai to give us the intellect and wisdom to make

tomorrow's world a happier place to stay always with unity by following his

principle of " Shraddha " and " Saburi "

Let us pray to Sri Sai to grant us steady faith and love on him.

Jai Sai Ram

Swamy Mahadevan

Bow to Shri Sai-Peace be to all

Baba Bless you ever!!!
