Guest guest
Thus Spake The Lord Man still believes that bliss can be acquired from the external world. He hoards wealth, authority, fame and learning in order to acquire happiness, but he finds that they are fraught with fear, anxiety and pain. The millionaire is beset by the tax-gatherer, the cheat, the donation hunter, the housebreaker, and his sons and kinsmen who clamor for their share. Happiness of material origin is short-lived and has misery as its obverse. Reduce your wants; minimize your desires. ...When death deprives you of resistance, your kith and kin take off the nosestud and in their haste they may even cut the nose to retrieve it! If you go on heaping desire upon desire, it will be impossible to depart gladly when the call comes. Become rich in virtue, in the spirit of service, in devotion to Higher Power. This is what pleases Me and saves you. Reference: Sathya Sai Speaks; Vol. VII, P. 132-133. Sathya Sai Speaks; Vol. II, P. 125.
