The Voice In The Ear By: Ram Chugani There was a lady in Kerala, who had an only son. He got a job in Calcutta. He got married. He was worried because Calcutta was far away from his hometown. He however went with his wife to live there as he did not have any other choice. He lived there in a flat on the 8Th or 9Th floor and was happy with his job.He was employed as an accountant in a company but soon he lost his job. He was discharged off his duty for the missing of office funds. He was very upset as he had acquired a bad name early in his career. Hence he wrote a letter to his wife: "Don't think of me any more" and left the house. The poor wife had no one to console her, or help to find out where he had gone. She telephoned his mother, The mother was a devotee of Sai Baba but her son was not. He often commented on Swami. The mother wrote a letter to Swami, as that was the only thing she knew and could do. She was a a poor old lady and could not go to the post office. So she put the letter below the

photo of Swami in her house and prayed for her son's life.Meanwhile the young man, Arvind by name wandered about wanting to commit suicide. But suicide was not that easy. One had to search for some river or a deep well and escape from friends and possible saviors!According to the law if he was to survive his attempt of suicide he will be

punished.. So he came early morning and was about to jump into the Ganges when some one shouted in his ear, "Don't jumpDon't jump" Don't die, come to Puttaparthi. The only thing this young man could do was to jump into the Ganges from the Howrah Bridge and drown himself. So he came early morning and was about

to jump into the Ganges when some one shouted in his ear, "Don't jumpDon't jump" Don't die, come to Puttaparthi." He could not resist because voice was hitting sharply against his ear.Not being able to go against the instructions that fell into his ears he went to the railway station nearby and purchased a ticket to Bangalore. He told later, that he could not sleep in the train and could not think of anything except Puttaparthi. He said when the wheels of train were moving he could hear "Puttaparthi! Puttaparthi! And when the train moved slowly it sounded as Putta-parthi, Putta-parthi! .He reached Bangalore, and he wanted to purchase a ticket to Penukonda. But the clerk at the counter asked whether he was going to see Swami. He added "Then to go to Puttaparthi to see Swami, but your Baba is here in Whitefield!"But , it was Puttaparthi which was resounding in his ear all through. So he said "I want to do to Puttaparthi, please give me a ticket to Penukonda."Read an account of what happened in Puttaparthi on the Next Page Page: 1 | 2 Ram ChuganiKobe, Japanrgcjp
