Guest guest
FINAL WISDOM(Chapter 24) Wisdom cannot be acquired by learning, it is gained by experience only which is why God has to use the path of practice and tests; what we call tests and problems to be surmounted. That is the only method by which we can learn. Otherwise, we do not learn. Without trial, error and experience, there is no wisdom. One must be prepared to be tested, hopefully not too greatly, but some minor tests will come to examine faith, to examine the strength of your love. Maybe He will say something or do something that seems not quite right or appears untrue. This is where faith comes in. Logical reasoning must be overcome. With God, logical reasoning cannot win. He is a relationship in the heart, of the heart and from the heart, soul to soul. Only love and blind faith are successful with Him. What He will ask is, 'If you say you love Me, if you say you have faith in Me, then do I not have the right to test the strength of your devotion and belief? Without a test, how can I ascertain the depth of your faith in My words? You say you love Me, but how much? Many repeat these words parrot fashion and yet, at the first sign of trouble, they walk away from Me. I give you many proofs of My presence with you and yet the slightest doubt and you question Me?' Faith should be so strong that if God says 'That is a dove, then it MUST be a dove. If He then says it is an eagle, one must conclude that it IS an eagle. If He then states it is a hawk, then one should accept that regardless of the illusion of the form before you, it is a hawk, for it is the Lord's words that is actually true. One must place complete faith in His word. It is by no means an easy task. This is where most of us fail. It is terrifying the degree to which one must have this trust in Him rather than in one's own senses. But nothing less will suffice and if one truly loves Him heart and soul, then nothing will matter. This sort of faith is very difficult for us to acquire. All we can do is pray for His grace and love, and for Him to be merciful in His tests. We can but strive and strain to attain and ask for His grace in gifting us this faith, love and trust. Once the attempt is made, His grace will be showered, of that you can rest assured. It is His promise because He loves us just as we are. He loves us because once we go back to Him, the children that He has been waiting for for thousands of years, He will never allow us to fall back into the illusion of worldly attractions. At times He may deliberately create situations to test your patience. But you must cultivate patience. He tests because He owns the entire universe and He questions if your heart is entirely His. Are you prepared to bear with the tests and still offer Him your love? He tests because He is the ruler of the universe and He has to see if your love is genuine. Even when you approach a bank manager for a loan, He tests you for your means and ability to repay. The Lord does not need your repayment; what He seeks is your pure and innocent love. He looks for the purity and the innocence and that there are no ulterior motives in your love for Him. You continue with your responsibilities to the Lord undeterred, your love for the Lord untainted and unchanged. The only solution to this problem is to be resolute and try to acquire the equanimity of mind that He expects of you. To win through, you must be vigilant of and overcome your shortcomings. When you give the Lord the license to test you, to do as He pleases, beware! You must be very careful what you seek from the Lord for he hears every thought and word, every nuance in your thinking. He is fully aware. And if you seek the strength and fortitude to bear His examinations, then immediately the disruptions will erupt. So one must be very careful what desires, wishes and dreams you present to the Lord. Be very, very careful what promises you make to the Lord for He takes them literally and He will demand their fulfillment. To whom much is given from them, much will be demanded. You will have grace, you will have love and you will have the key to the Lord's heart, but you will have to be vigilant that you do not compromise His principles and His love. You will have to incessantly remind yourself that it is His plan and that He is the resident of each and every soul, body and heart, and see Him in every single individual. Of course, all beings and all things in this universe are divine but through intelligent analysis, one has to make the choices that will help one and avoid the paths that will hinder one. This is the way of discrimination, which is wisdom. Take the electric current, fire or a sharp knife. They are dangerous and disastrous if one does not know how to utilize them correctly. They can be either friends of foes. This applies to the senses too. If we allow them to rule us, they become our deadly enemies; if we master them, they help us realize our goal and attain the key to His heart. Ignorance is removed, wisdom is attained, but at each stage, it is to the extent that you are spiritually aware, to the extent that you can understand and utilize the knowledge that is automatically revealed to you through the inner vision. All this takes time but time is only relative. And each person is different as to how much time it will take to acquire this knowledge and wisdom. Wisdom is being conscious and aware that this phenomenal world is merely a stage, a drama. That this is a part we play. A real actor does not identify himself with his part nor does he live it as a reality. He is constantly aware that once off stage, he is free to be his true self. One has to understand and live in the realization of this concept. Once one begins to see beyond this stage and becomes aware of the director of this whole drama, then can one be said to be truly progressing. God says that He loves all equally, therefore, the evidence points to areas of improvement within ourselves, some error that we must be able to correct, which would put us in the 'true devotee' category. Who is a true devotee of God? A true devotee is not someone who worships God, rather, it is someone who becomes God. To become God! This is a serious area that each of us must examine for it is the inevitable conclusion of this journey. At best, many think about the idea of becoming God, and hold it as some future event, something that will happen 'some day'. But few ever dare to accept the possibility of becoming God NOW. Perhaps this is the mark of a true devotee, of dawn of true wisdom. EPILOGUE Hereafter, make a determination to change your way of life to the way of God and live a life so filled with love and God that there is no room for anything else. Why can't you be the one the Lord is seeking? Throughout the millennia, He has been searching and searching for that special devotee, the one who seeks Him for Himself and not for what He can bestow. How many cry for the Lord, cry for His love, His company? How many are there who want Him for Himself with no thought of self, only looking to His comfort, His pleasure and His happiness? How many yearn for His smile, His laughter? Indeed who desires to make the Lord laugh? How many love the Lord for Himself? Does anyone ever reflect upon His loneliness? In the midst of this vast universe of His making, He is essentially alone. For this very reason, He created man in His own image but man has turned to the tinsel and the trivial. We ask of Him favors, pray for cares and cures and promotions but only one in a million loves Him for Himself. Even amongst those few, He has no one who will be friend and companion to Him, no one to play with, sport with. This love, this companionship He has been seeking throughout the ages. Learn to love the Lord all the time with your whole heart and soul. Do not be forever demanding. Seek to give for He is the ultimate in all relationships. The yearning, the agony of unfilled longing for Him is the love that melts His heart. No other relationship can bring the same complete happiness that loving the Lord can. So why can't you be the one He is seeking, His friend, His companion, His beloved. Do not give it up as an impossible task. Try and you will succeed. It is within the reach of all, and by so doing, you will please Him greatly and win His love for eternity. (From : THE KEY TO GOD'S HEART by R SAI)Copyright by the Author. All rights reserved.
