ACTION AND REACTION(Chapter 17)The

law of the universe is action and reaction. Whatever is given is

received, whatever is received is given back. What goes around comes

around in every sense of the word.We

state that we suffer. We complain of our misery, that our lives are

poverty ridden or unbearable. Why has God created this misery for us?

We feel so often that it is God's fault that unhappiness is our lot or

that we have problems. This is not true and so we need to be constantly

reminded that it is not God who has ordained that problems abound in

our lives. He has not created anything. He is not responsible for any

of this. We sow and we reap. We do not like to admit that we are

responsible. Yet we must accept responsibility for our actions if we

are to progress. It is as if we sent out a boomerang, which, when it is

thrown out makes a complete circle and always returns to the sender.

Whatever we have thrown out in our past in some way, either through our

thoughts, words, or deeds, must always returns to us. Everything that

we say, think and do carries a subtle energy. It carries our particular

energy as we send it out. There

is energy attached to every thought we send out and so it goes to its

goal but it returns to us because it is our energy that activated it.

Every action we do carries a price tag - either in red or yellow; the

good and the bad. The price tag is known as 'consequences'. Good

actions lead to good consequences - the upliftment of the soul and to

the benefit of one self. Bad actions carry the consequences of suitable

reprisals, punishment or suffering. This is one of the greatest

responsibilities that we all need to accept. Once we accept that we are

receiving exactly what we initiated, then it is much easier for us to

remedy whatever condition within which needs to be changed. If we

object and cross swords with all and sundry and fail to accept our own

faults, then suffering is our lot.To

be truly happy, one must refrain from interfering in other people's

lives and from hurting others. For no matter what charity, service,

love or spiritual practices one follows and engages in, if one hurts

and makes others unhappy through interference, then one can only expect

misery and unhappiness in return. All spiritual practices are swept

away and destroyed in the pain and unhappiness of others. We,

as human beings, constantly question why God places us in situations we

would rather avoid. Why make people do what they dislike and abhor,

what they fear? The answer to this is that only by living with and

overcoming like and dislike can we attain unshakeable equanimity. This

is absolutely necessary to develop love and devotion, not to mention

faith.One

must see oneself only as an instrument of the divine and therefore

whatever is said or done, right or wrong is His. One cannot presume or

assume responsibility for the thinking of others. Carry out your duties

with love, consideration and understanding. If someone still takes

offense then explain matters, but you are not to be held responsible

for anything that happens. Your only duty, your only task is to work on

your own nearness and dearness to divinity. For only then can you carry

out your part, the part He wishes you to play on this world stage. This

universe is merely a spot, a speck on the cosmological stage. Planet

earth is a dust particle and we humans can be likened to microbes. We

are all actors playing our parts. The director is Divinity itself. The

problem arises when we identify with the part we have been allocated to

play to such an extent that we refuse to leave the stage or continue

with the script. We adapt the drama for our edification and ad lib.

Some of us aspire to the director's role though lacking His

discernment, knowledge and compassion. In fact, we are convinced of the

unshakeable truth of the drama. It becomes real for us. All errors and

crisis arise from the actions that proceed from these convictions. The

rule an requirement is that we play our part in accordance with the

director's directions and script, yet aware of His cues and the

temporal nature of the role we have been assigned. Only then can life

be calm, fulfilling and serene. We can then leave the world stage

having completed our role successfully.The

answers to the secrets of God's universe are essentially quite simple;

that is why purity and innocence are a necessity to comprehend Him. The

human mind thinks that it must be some complicated formula that ensures

the smooth running of the universe. It is why we fail to unravel the

mysteries of the universe, the mysteries of God's creation and the

mysteries of God Himself. Only the lover of God comes close to

unveiling those mysteries, for God blesses His beloved with this

knowledge. The Lord is innocence and simplicity personified. It is His

innate nature. This is precisely why in the spiritual field, cunning

and cleverness are a handicap and, rather than advancing progress, they

hold one back and slow progress. They are not useful in the least. The

truth is completely the opposite. God is so simple He is childlike. He

is so innocent and naive that His heart is easily melted. Shed only one

tear for Him and He runs to take His child in His arms. We are such

that we will shed an endless stream of tears for temporary trivial

issues of no consequences but not one tear will form for His sake, for

love of Him.One

must be fair, honest and above board. There must be no deceitful

cunning in the personality. For cunning and conniving is utterly

valueless and is an impediment to spiritual progress. The wonder is why

do we humans set such a store by these traits. Nowadays, unless one has

these qualities, one is considered an idiot or a simpleton and

devalued. This is exactly what is wrong with the world today, wrong

values. Cleverness and cunning have never achieved any good. They have

always harmed, never helped and it treads the road away from

spirituality, divinity and God. If the predominant feeling is love and

one loves everyone, then there is nothing to hide, there is nothing to

connive for. There is no one to cheat except oneself. There is no one

to deceive. Unconditional love is so utterly pure and it showers

happiness in immeasurable measure.Certain

persons declare that they are only engaged in God's duty and that

nothing belongs to them; neither their actions nor the reactions that

follow. They insist that due to this belief of theirs, God must absolve

them from all the consequences of their actions as stated in the

scriptures. And so they are free from worldly bonds. This is not true.

God will only accept the actions and consequences of one who is no

longer concerned with worldly affairs. For such a one cannot harm nor

hurt anyone or anything. Only such a person will be incapable of doing

harm in thought, word and deed. All others may use rhetoric but their

actions betray them. In our worldly sense, we may feel that such

persons appear to be happy but we must understand that this is the

result of past actions. Remember only one who loves God may be subject

to tests, according to worldly standards, but this person is also

blessed with great joy, invisible protection and showered with His

intense love, happiness and tremendous bliss. Others are left to

experience the consequences of their previous actions. To offer your

actions to God by stating that all is your will and yet entertain the

emotion of anger and revenge, never will He accept the actions of such

a person.Purity

is enlightenment and unity is divinity. This is the goal and the way.

It will continue and never end, this seeking and searching for unity

and purity within ourselves and in one another. How to generate purity

and love - purity in the sense - the good things you can do to promote

pure thought and words? The answer is to cleanse the soul, cleanse the

mind, cleanse the body. Once this purity manifests and fear is

destroyed, then love automatically arises, bubbles and simmers

involuntarily and emerges to the surface. It can be love for anyone or

anything - which can be transmuted in to love for God. If all this is

carried out with the purpose of creating love for God then therein lies

the key to God's heart. Once you have this love, intensify it by living

in this love constantly.The

requisite for love is absolute purity. Purity in what is thought and

spoken and purity in actions. That purity should be applied to work and

prayer. Purity is the harbinger and sole requisite for love. Purity of

the heart is very important. Where there is no purity, there is no

unity or love. Without these two, one cannot attain divinity. Love,

purity and unity. Purity grows from selfless service. All are one,

serve everyone. All are alike, be alike to everyone. Talk very little,

even about God. There should be internal speech with God that will lead

to the giving up of all attachments. All

action and reaction is such so why should you shoulder the discredit

for harboring unworthy thoughts. What will happen or what is to happen

will happen anyway. What has been done must be accounted for. The law

of action and reaction is inexorable. See how the ego becomes bloated.

And pride, pride always goes before a fall, is it not? Try to eradicate

this type of thought, purify your mind, thoughts and actions. Want only

Him.The

only way to immortality is through the removal of immorality. The very

act of purifying our lives evokes divinity to reveal itself in our

lives, and not only we but the community, society and entire world

benefits thereby.(From : THE KEY TO GOD'S HEART by R SAI)Copyright
