Guest guest
LOVING GOD (Chapter 6) - continuation -How does God spend His time? What are His leisure and pastime activities? What does He do? It may be that perhaps that is the whole crux of the matter for since He is omnipresent and is aware of all things at all times, the only diversion for Him, the only true happiness for Him is your love, is when you spend time with Him. More especially, persons who yearn for Him and want Him for Himself, and not for the gifts He can or may bestow. It is a delight and a novelty for Him to be loved for Himself. Otherwise, I guess it to be quite tedious being in possession of all knowledge, past, present and future. We have so many options before us to attract our attention to keep us occupied and preoccupied and to amuse us. Lost in the various distractions vying for our attention and being immersed in the delusion of worldly reality, we forget Him but to whom can He turn? Every waking moment, one should be submerged in the contemplation of the divine. Have you ever thought that He is trying and making attempt after attempt to attract our attention, to make us turn to Him! How can we even hear His calls entrapped as we are in the delirium of our minds. We have so many tasks, our days are full of work, duty, office, home, children, ironing, washing, cleaning, cooking and working. When can we find time for God's work? When can we find time, when can we make time for Him? When can we find time for loving Him? Our desires multiply to make us busy. We have neither the time nor the inclination to sit in silence, to hear His call. With God, there are no shares. We cannot say that there is a separate God life and worldly life. Do not separate your day into God's time and your time. One must make all work God's work. He will not share Himself with you, your desires and your wants and needs. One must remember, at all times, that God should not be treated as a distant deity to be bowed to and worshiped but is actually the closest, nearest and the dearest. He is the integral indweller of each and every one of us, nearer than your own skin, part of your flesh and blood. Imagine His feelings on being ignored by ninety nine percent of His creation? Do not place Him on a pedestal to be worshiped as a deity or a sovereign divinity on a regal throne. Worship Him, if you must, as your very own self, as very much an inseparable part of you, not apart from you. Merge Him intimately into your life. Treat Him as a friend, brother, sister, mother, father, confident, beloved, the dearest, nearer and dearer than any other. Share everything with Him, your food, clothing, time, work, and play. Let there be the feeling that both are in one body and not two separate persons interacting. It is not an imaginary companion that you will have. It is a real, true and perhaps your only friend that you will be blessed enough to have. Whatever you wish for, your hopes and aspirations, ask of this beloved friend. This process and practice will increase your devotion and love for Him to such an extent that He will perforce become a living reality for you. You will so bind Him to you with these silken and enticing bonds of love that He will be unable to resist nor desire to withstand. To see God, to acquire His response, to capture His love, to secure the golden key to His heart and gain entry therein, there must be an acute, passionate, consuming desire; an overwhelming desire that sweeps all before it. God cannot be treated as a side issue of secondary importance. A response from Him will only occur, be received when the yearning is incredibly intense, even painful. When being parted from Him is an agony that cannot be borne any longer. If you place Him first, then He also places your wishes at the top of His list and thereby, you receive everything. Alter the priorities of God and desires around and it is entirely up to your past merits as to what you receive or suffer. You are not then entitled to that total complete protection that He offers, that is yours for the asking unconditionally. You will only receive if you will seek Him first. Develop your own love of God and do not evaluate or emulate others for love emerges only the heart and not from observing others. If you have love for Him, the Lord Himself, will play with you and become your eternal companion. Loving the Lord is a divine romance. There is only one romance worth the while to be enacted, experienced and enjoyed; only one romance that guarantees bliss and always keeps its sweet promises. All other worldly loves and romances give only pain and sorrow for they are based on a conditional love, a demanding obsession or desiring love. Love with and for God, and His love for us is totally and completely unconditional. The divine romance is the most exquisite of all. This profound love will be stamped with the hallmark of supreme total and complete attachment to Him. See Him, the one you love, in everyone around you. It becomes a simple task; look then in the eye and see the form of your beloved Lord. Within repeat the mantra 'I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you' every waking moment and witness the miracle that transpires. This is one of the ways to please God, to attain Him. Once you use the mantra 'I love you', you will observe how incredibly harmonious and beautiful the world becomes for you. How exquisite and full of priceless joy is every moment. How deep the happiness expands and over flows in your heart. There is no time for worry, fear, anger, or jealousy. All the vices and negativity will flee before the highest mantra of love. There will be no room left for these things in your heart. Merely repeat the mantra until it creates the love within your heart, until tears gleam and fall like diamonds in longing of Him. Say I love you to the people you see every day, the woman in the street, the stressed mother with her children. I love you to the beggar. I love you to the caretaker, the school children, the baker, the shopkeeper and the executive; that is all that is needed. Repeat it until it becomes a living reality within you. And a visible transformation will take place, not only within you but all around you and in the people you come into contact with. Your aura, your positive love will enter into these people and will have an impact upon their lives also. The 'I love you' mantra is more powerful than any other force in the world. That is not to say He is an egoistic being demanding love, devotion and servitude. Quite the contrary, what He seeks is not bowing and scraping, the creeping and pandering or prostrations but the sharing of love on an equal footing, as equals, as shareholders in His power. Love for God is not complete, is not fully of the highest until there is no distinction between lover and beloved. There should be no curtain, not even the finest of veils to part you; no barriers nothing. There must be a total at onement for that love to be complete. For then it becomes love that is poured from one vessel to another. It is exchanged, and in that exchange, it grows ever more from the devotee to the Lord, from the Lord to the devotee. Backwards and forwards, forwards and backwards, and each time it becomes more and more fervent and intense until it reaches the highest state of devotion, sheer ecstasy. It may cause temporary unhappiness leaving you dejected and sorrowful but your longing and yearning will all the more ensure a flood of grace showers. Such grace that you have never imagined. Such grace as you have never thought could exist. The more you yearn the more this wonderful profusion of grace will stream and descend upon you. Eventually, you will find that even the communication and the connection are insufficient and that you need more, more from the Lord, more closeness and cherished intimacy. The only solution to wanting Him is to yearn, desire, long and wait until you are ready to receive what you desire. Do not allow anything to deter you in your resolve to reach the goal. For it is only through this suffering (longing and yearning for Him) and tears is purity attained, purity enough to attract His love. Through inner silence, learn to tune to God's voice. The distance between you and Him is the distance between you and yourself. Be attached under all conditions to the source, substance and sum total of all power. The power of the Lord for then you can draw from that source all that you may need. This attachment is called devotion, it is called love of God. Loving the Lord is meditation. It is the highest from of meditation. Just being immersed in thoughts of Him that is true meditation. Conversing with Him is true prayer. It is the only real prayer. Real meditation is being absorbed in the thought of God all the time, God only and only God. Think God, breathe God, see God, hear God, live God and love God. The Lord is understood only by His devotee and the devotee is understood only by the Lord. This is the mystical connection between the two. The desire to know God, love God, and be loved by God, is not a desire that binds, it is the one desire that frees you from all other attachments, from all other binding forces. It sets you free forever. Be content with the relationship you have with His presence. Yearn and want but do not allow discontent, unhappiness, sadness or depression to mar your life. When one is unhappy and distressed, how can the Lord be happy? One must be constantly aware of His thoughts and feelings. If you are joyful and blissful, so is He. He is a shareholder in all your feelings and emotions, all your trials and tribulations, your joys and sorrows. Love alone is enough. With love, one can win God and that is all that is necessary. There is no need to read great philosophical thesis on the philosophy of attaining God. All that is necessary is an all consuming love, a little faith and He can be captured and bound to you. The philosophical treatises demarking the scientific theories are for the intellectually driven, for those seeking knowledge of God, those fascinated by facts and who like to analyze, deduce and conclude to their own satisfaction. The seeker of knowledge asks how and why, the lover needs to know nothing; his primary concern being that his love is returned; that it is worthy of being accepted by the Lord and that it gives pleasure to the beloved. When you have the Lord as your companion, have compassion for all those poor souls that do not and cannot understand that they can have the Lord with them personally intimately, close near and dear. They flounder in their daily decisions wondering if they have made the correct choices. They do not have anybody to help them directly, to tell them what to do, how to avoid terrible consequences. This is a delight, a joy that only the lover of God is blessed with. Companionship of the Lord is one of the greatest gifts that exists in the entirety of creation. Our sojourn on this earth is for this one and only purpose. And once that companionship is ours, there is no higher mountain to climb, no heaven left to attain. - to continue - (From : THE KEY TO GOD'S HEART by R SAI) Visit : Sai Messages : http://saimessages.blogspot.com/ Sai Divine Inspirations : http://saidivineinspirations.blogspot.com/ Love Is My Form : http://loveismyform.blogspot.com/ (for non-Sai members) Catch up on fall's hot new shows on TV.
