Before the SAI Bhajan, Lalita Sashranamam was recited by some devotees on Fridays. The Bhajan was attended by about 55 members. Bro Sampath continued to read a new chapter from life of Shirdi Sai Baba. Bro. Ravi Shankar (whose mother is getting operated on next Monday) took the aarthi. We pray for her speedy recovery. Pl find attached the file of Bhajans sung in Riyadh group last week - courtesy Bro. Suresh Iyengar. From next week it will be posted on Risnet on Wednesday before the Bhajans. Members are requested to print and bring a copy. They can make more copies for others if they wish. Earlier in the week on Sunday on Janmashtami day, Sunday 2nd Sep a special Bhajan was held attended by about 40 members, most of them with families and small children. Bro Ravi Chandran (SABIC) gave a brief discourse on the white baby footsteps of Lord Krishna symbolizing his stealing the butter and then hiding from his mother Yashoda who traces him via those foot steps which were soaked in butter. However when she finds him, she is too overcome with emotion to chide him. After the Bhajan, some members assembled to review the working of the center so as to further enhance it. Bro Packy (National Coordinator) mentioned at the beginning tat the main purpose of the center is to help members get closer mentally to SATHYA SAI BABA and not a week-end entertainment. Those present were asked to give their views. Subsequently Bro Packy has sent a note highlighting the key decisions taken. I give below some extracts for benefit o members from other centers A) Security Policy Guidelines with Emphasis on Punctuality & Discipline 1. All devotees are expected to be at the center 10 minutes before the commencement of any program. The doors will be closed exactly at the time of commencement. Late comers are requested to excuse us for not permitting them to attend the program. 2. Devotees as they leave are requested to kindly close the main door and do not .leave the door open. They should not congregate outside which will obviously attract unwanted attention. Vehicles should be parked away from the center. 3. All new guests should be sponsored by the existing members and prior intimation/permission should be obtained from the co-coordinators. They also need to be introduced to other members at the end of the program. Now there are some new faces and we do not know who they are. Thy also stop coming after one or two sessions. We are not here for time passing or entertainment. B) Spiritual advancement Policy: with emphasis on Bhajans 1. Lead singers who wish to sing bhajans should give their songs to the co-coordinator latest by Monday, failing which the vacant slots will be filled by the co-coordinator at his own choice 2. The lyrics of the bhajans (in Riyadh) will be posted in the risnet by Wednesday and members are expected to bring the printout of the same. No print outs of the bhajans will be distributed at the center from now (as done before). 3. Sound level should be maintained at a reasonably acceptable volume. Self control by all is emphasized. 4. Whoever who wish to bring Prasad am (in Riyadh) should inform in advance to either Mrs. Bhanu Manisekar or Mrs. Rama Suresh to avoid duplication or excess items. 5. Aarti will be taken in the alphabetical order of our Riyadh Sai member list and which will be notified by the Bhajan co-coordinator with the Bhajan list Other centers are encouraged to develop similar policies suiting their member’s convenience and interests.
