Special poojas were performed at the temple and Vyasa Maharshi temple on the banks of Godavari on the occasion. The three-day festival which took off with `Shata Chandi Yagam’ will conclude with offering of presentations to Veda pandits on Tuesday. Special rituals, including Ganapathi Puja, Punya Havanam, Yaga Shala Pravesham, Mantapa Aradhana and Aruna Homam, Maha Vidya Havanam, Chandi Havanam and others were performed on the temple premises. Hundreds of devotees took a holy dip in river Godavari since sunrise. The temple administration made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the programme. Police force was deployed around the temple bathing ghats, toilets and medical camps. Special RTC buses were pressed into service for the covenience of pilgrims. Nalgonda: Sri Gurupurnima celebrations will be held at Shirdi Sai Baba temple in Nalgonda on July 7, temple executive committee president Murali has said. In a press release issued here on Sunday, he said special rituals like abhishekam, akhanda sainama sankeerthana and others will be performed on the premises from 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
