Because of summer holidays here also there would be heavy rush and hot weather.But you need not worry.You can make all reservations like flight/trains /hotels from there itself (on line).As you are aware on Thursdays to Sundays Heavy rush is there usually usually Because of summer holidays in India there may be rush on other days too. Narsoba Wadi has Padukas of Shri Narasimha Saraswati. Who is considered as Second avatar of Shri Dattatreya. This village is small. There is a bus connection to Kolhapur. It is 50Km from Kolhapur. The nearest railway station is Sawai Jaisingpur. Akkalkot is in the border of Maharastra and Karnataka in Solapur district. A place of Swami Samarth. Gangapur is near the bank of Bhima in Afzalpur taluka in Gulbarga district of Karnataka. Very good Lord Narshimha temple and Rameshwar Temple. In Gangapur you may want to do "Madukari" for a while, means begging with a small bag. You may see couple of them doing and they give you prasad in your bag. Check when is Palkhi in Narsoba Wadi and go on that day. Probably on every thursday just check It is long since I have been there and after coming to USA no idea. But was happy to hear you going. Please convey my "Sastang Namaskar" to all this places and my namaskar to you also. All this Datta avatar likes "chapha" flowers. May be make a garland by yourself for the padukas at Narsoba wadi. Akkalkot Maharaj place you can just donate food for five. Well, I am talking as if I know you but felt nice to hear you are keen on all this places of Datta and Nath sampraday. In general just go by a private vehicle. Don't rush for everything just chill yourself for amta shanti even if you do not get chance to cover all and got few or even if you get just only say Shirdi you will find everything there. They are just connect boss and spread over everywhere in different size and shapes. Take a private vehicle and take care of water and health, you should be fine. If you have any questions pl email me and I can reply to the extent of my meagre knowledge. I take it that you will stary your journey from hyderabad. You look up www.maps./ or put in a search for "Maharashtra map " and you will get the link. I am forwarding the link separately. It would be best if you hire a car. An AC car is available at about Rs 10 to15 per Km with overnight charges.. Leg 1. Go to Gulbarga which is nearest. Ask directions for Gangapur. It must be only a coupl of hoursney. At Ganagapur there are hotels which are run by the local priests. You can book with them next days bath at Sangam, Abhsheka, darshan etc. Afternoon you go for Bhiksha with a leaf drona which is sold there. In spite of the Bhiksha which you can taste a little for formality sake, you can arrange to have your afternoon meal with the priest. Leg 2. You leave Gangapur in the afternoon and come to Akkalkot which is about two-three hours journey. Here you can have Darshan at the Banyan tree math. If you wish to stay there there are4 hotels but very dirty. But you may get a place in Dharmshala there. After going to the main Math you can go to Cholappa math which is in the town. Swami's body is kept there. If yiou prevailm upon the priest there he can show you the articles used by Swami. Alternatively, since you have a car, go to Solapur, stay in a decent hotel and return in the morning, and take afternoon prasad which is the common meal served free. But unless you meet the office people there and tell you are from US you may have to stand and wait a long time for your turn for food. Depends upon you whether you are satisfied with the prasad you get at banyan tre math or not. Leg 3 From Solapur you go to Ahmadnagar known only as Nagar. As you see from the map, the route is via Barsi but best to ask the local people in Solapur, say the hotel peson. If you reach Shirdi in the evening you can attend evening arati and if you stay overnight you can attend Kakadarati, there are expensive hotels nearby. else you can stay in Bhaktinivas which has lots of rooms but are not so clean. You should not miss visiting Dwrakamai and Chavadi which is a little walking distant from the mandir. Dwarkamai where the fire is still kept runnung has strong vibrations. Leg 4 From Shirdi you can come to Pune. Stay overnight or proceed to Kolhapur where you can do all the Datta Places mentioned in the note. Or you can go straight to Narsobawadi taking a left turn before you reach Kolhapur. . From Narsobawadi you must go to Sangli which is just fifteen minutes from narsobawadi and at Sangli ask how to reach oudumber. From oudumber you go to Kolhapur or straight to Hyderabad because you are now on the Bengalore Highway. Wish you a happy fruitful Pilgrimage with Baba with you.
