Guest guest
Sathya Sai Samiti on philanthropic mission in ParadipPioneer News Service | ParadipNormally, people relax on Sundays, being a holiday. However the dedicated members of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti are always involved in social service without inviting any print or electronic media representative to record the event or requesting for financial assistance to the public or Government to carry out their social activities. Being the devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, they call Sunday as Sai Day. On December 20, the Sai devotees of Paradip and Mangarajpur Sai Samitis coordinated by its youth wings started their day long activities by Omkaram, Suprabhatam and Nagar Sankirtanam. At 6.30 am, 11 members of the Paradip Samiti were at Biju Memorial Hospital at Atharabanki. Till 8.30 am they cleaned and washed the toilets, bathrooms and halls where patients are admitted and distributed fruits, biscuits and photos of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to all the patients. The medical officer of the Biju Memorial Hospital, Dilip Biswal assisted the devotees while carrying out the service (seva). This cleaning operation is done every fortnight by the Samiti with its own resources. At 9.30 am the members cleaned the ponds at village Balidiha where about 30 devotees from Mangarajpur and Kujang Sai Samitis participated in the cleaning operation which continued till 1 pm. The interesting part of the seva of these devotees is that while doing the seva they keep on singing the Sai bhajans in chorus which is said to make them energetic. At 11 am the youth wing of Paradip Sai Samiti conducted its monthly youth meet till 4 pm where besides chanting of Vedas, mantras and bhajans, discussions were made for more group activities for the year 2010. All these programmes were coordinated by the youth wing of the Samiti headed by Himanshu Patnaik and Dasarathi Prusty and guided by senior devotees of the Samithi, Antaryami Patnaik, Bipin Bihari Panigrahi and NK Murty. The philanthropic activities of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation are known worldwide. The Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust is managing two super-speciality hospitals at Prasanthi Nilayam and Bangalore where treatment and critical surgeries are done absolutely free. There are schools and universities imparting education starting from KG to PG classes free of cost. Recently, renowned industrialist Ratan Tata visited the hospitals and university campus and appreciated the philanthropic activities of Sri Sathya Sai Organisation and commented that his reputed company should have been a part of the Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Project. http://www.dailypioneer.com/224358/Sathya-Sai-Samiti-on-philanthropic-mission-in-Paradip.html
