Sai Ram Sister Gayathri,Mauritius is indeed a very beautiful island and you have nearly all facilities like proper school etc...Most schools are government schools which offer classes upto 6 th standard and it is free and there are also Private schools where you have to bear the expenses. You have state colleges also that are free and private colleges also and the quality of education is rather good. There are here many indian families from doctors to engineers and we find most of their children going to Government schools... The certificates are valid in India and the cost of living is little more expensive than in India Any other query, please do contact me,Shyama,Gandhi Rd, Triolet230 767 1431gayathri jethwani <gayathri_jethwani wrote: SAIRAM brother it was indeed great to see your mail as i feel SWAMI is perhaps answering my thoughts in a way. actually brother my husband and i have been offered a job in mauritius the job is not yet finalised as there are lots of things to setlle before we can decide esp schooling of our kids during the last week i was just searching in an expat blog about the livng conditions cost of living schooling for my kids (class 1nad 2)accomodation ets and i was also searching for a SAI SAMITI fro prayer to my great hapiness i did read about a SAI SAMITI IN Mauritius so i was reassured and now SWAMI has reassured me again.THANK YOU BABA one help please

Sai Ram Sister Gayatri In response to your queries regarding living conditions in Mauritius, I am pleased to submit the following to supplement the information that you already have so that you may be better empowered to make the right decision. The country is small and you can travel from north to south and from east to west within 2 hours. Security standard is o.k. especially in the rural setting although if you come to Mauritius you may not find much difference in between rural and urban Mauritius. People are very religious and you have many places of worship throughout the country. Sai satanghs groups exist in all parts of the country. Schools run the same programme targeting the national level primary education for 11 years old children in government primary schools.

Subjects taught are compulsory: English Language, French Language, Maths. some sort of elementary science subject and an optional oriental language component that can be eitther Hindi, Telegu, Tamil, Chinese Mandarin and Urdu. Private service providers also exist as well as Roman Catholic Aided schools in both primary and secondary sectors. Private tuition is practised in all primary schools. The certification system is very good and our children secure entry in Indian international standard universities without any difficulty. We also have a medical university and a school of dentistry with resouce persons mainly from India. People of different ethnic origin live in peaceful coexistence and the mostly spoken language is the creole dialect and bhojpuri. In fficial correspondence we use English medium whereas in formal conversations French is

used. Many medical practitioners from India work on contract in Mauritius while we have thousands of people from south India, shri Lanka and other parts of the asian continent working in the export processing zone. Joint ventures with Indian business people operate in Mauritius. All commodities are available in markets and shops and vegetarians do not encounter any difficulty for the provisions required for their meals. The different Hindu festivals are celebrated in the country and of course you will feel like being in a small India. I hope the above information will be of help to you. Sai Ram Sunil A household of 4 may require 20,000 Mauritian rupees for a fair standard of living exclusive of rent for house.
