Guest guest
Dear Sai Brothers and Sisters, It is my humble opinion that we all should sit and see tha aarti. The first reason is as everybody know that we will not be a hindrance to others behind us. This by itself is a wonderful seva (service). We should never be an obstacle for some one who would have either come from near or far with some problem or the other. The second is that as per Swami's words druing various circumstances, it is during the Darshan and during the aarti, the grace and the divine's presence can be felt (even after swami retires in the physical presence and other wise during our Samiti's bhajans too) and if we proceed to maintain silence and do some meditation, we would be able to absorb that divine energy. The can be achieved obly by sitting silent without disturbing the aura around us. If we stand up for the aarti and then sit for meditation, we would invariably be disturbing the aura around us. So lets all sit and enjoy the aarti being performed and attain the bliss and joy of Swami's Blessings. If every one stand during the Aarthi, Then only the devotees from first & second line can be able to see the aarti. And the similar case matches to all the places. From my view I suggest that every one should sit and view the Aarthi so that every one in the hall can see the Aarti. Reg Disrespect, I feel Swami is like our Mother and hence he will not find and mistake from us if we do from the above mentioned view. Sairam. Thanks with Best Regards,Sriram V. Dear Sai Ram, This mail is from a remote town in Central Jawa of Indonesia. In the local Sai Mandir, yesterday (27/03/2008), there was a healthy discussion on whether during Mangala Aarthi, all devotees should raise and stand or they should remain seated. Hitherto, in this centre, for years they have been following the system of standing during Mangala Aarthi. Recently some outsider attended the Bhajan and suggested that the devotees need to remain seated during Aarthi. During yesterday's discussions, many of the devotees expressed the view that it would be a disrespect to the Lord, if they do not stand and the number of devotees are not many which demand otherwise. Some of the devotees have no opinion to offer. Few of the devotees quoted the example from Prashanthi Nilayam and other Sai Centres in India wherein during Aarthi, all devotees remain seated which would also enable clear view of the Altar, will not disturb the aasana of the devotee, will not result in some commotion, etc., Now as a long time devotee, I would like to get views from the group on the right position of devotees during Aarthi.
