Guest guest
SAI RAM: On Monday, February 25, 2008, we had Asylum hearing for a client from Uzbekistan. At the end of 5 hours hearing, Immigration Judge wanted to grant Asylum to my client, who was severely beaten and sodomized by police. Psychotherapist and Opposition Party Leader had testified for my client. Government Attorney did not agree with the Judge and wanted to appeal the case. Judge Granted the case. Government reserved right to appeal. Appeal means 1 or 2 years delay. Also, there's is a chance that Appeal Court would reverse Judge's decision granting Asylum status. All evening, most of the night, I went to work with Sai, praying for my client. On Tuesday, February 26, 2008, 7.45 A.M. there was a phone message from Government attorney. 8.30 A.M. I called back. Our prayers were answered by Sai, Government attorney told me that he has changed his mind and that he will not appeal. It is highly unsual for Government attorney to call. I believe Sai changed his mind. Million Thanks to Sai Allah. My client, his family and I are ever grateful to SAI.
