Guest guest
------------- SAMASTHA LOKA SUGINO BHAVANTHU ----------------- Destroy Ajnana (ignorance) by means of instruction in the knowledge of the Atma. Strengthen the interest you are already endowed with towards the realisation of Brahman (God). Give up the attraction for evanescent and the false, the mirages created by fancy and fantasy. Turn your attention inwards, away from the external world.- Baba Thought for the day as written at Prasanthi Nilayam today8th July 2009 -- What can confer us peace and contentment? Swami guides us today Sai Inspires - 8th July 2009 'Dharma' or Right Action promotes peace and happiness, contentment and joy. Today, we are in need of persons who have attained purity in all levels of consciousness. One can reach perfect bliss only when his/her heart becomes free from envy, egoism, greed and other evil traits. We need persons who can recognize and relish the kinship and the identity that exists between man and man, as well as between one society and another. Dharma, Righteous Action alone provides peace, contentment and joy. - Divine Discourse, Dec 25 1976. Turn inwards to acquire awareness of the Divine. - Baba - PRASHANTHI NEWS - 07-07-09 Today the Heavens opened on this day of days, Guru Poornima. MORNING DARSHAN This Gurupoornima morning, Bhagavan came into Sai Kulwant Hall at ten o'clock clad in a yellow robe, seated on a special white chair, welcomed by the students' Panchavadyam band. The stage was set for a felicitation programme. Once Swami reached the verandah, He blessed the cakes arrayed there and then came onstage to begin the proceedings at 10.15 am. Prof. Anil Kumar announced the programme and called up the distinguished persons with brief introductions to sit beside Bhagavan. There were three brothers: Sri Appa Rao - outgoing Finance Controller of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Sri Sathyanarayana Murthy - Engineer in charge of the Airconditioning of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Dr. A. V. Lakshmi Narasimham - outgoing Registrar of Sri Sathya Sai University. Along with them was Sri M. Nanjundaiah - outgoing Controller of Examinations of Sri Sathya Sai University. Mrs. Appa Rao and Mrs. Nanjundaiah were seated beside their husbands. After the distinguished persons were garlanded by their junior colleagues, there were a couple of speeches by Dr. A. N. Safaya - Director of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences and Prof. Vishwanath Pandit - Vice Chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai University. Arati was then offered at 11.30 am. While Arati went on, prasadam was distributed, and Swami blessed the persons onstage with mementos and clothes. The function was brought to a close with a collective 'Samasta Loka Sukhino Bhavantu' chant at 11.45 am following which Swami left for His residence. EVENING DARSHAN In the evening, the bhajans began at 5 pm, and Bhagavan came to Sai Kulwant Hall at 6 pm. Once He reached the stage after His darshan round, He asked for the chairs to be arranged on the stage like in the morning, and asked the personalities of the morning felicitation ceremony to once again come onstage. At 6.30 pm, the bhajans were stopped and Bhagavan began to speak, seated between Sri Appa Rao and Prof. Nanjundaiah. Swami commended their services and exhorted the youngsters to follow their example in selfless service. After His Discourse, Swami asked for a couple of Bhajans to be sung and prasadam was distributed. It was 7.45 when He accepted Arati. After Arati, He sat onstage and interacted some more with the gentlemen and ladies before slowly moving to His residence in the car at 8 o'clock. ----------- ----------------------- DIVINE INSPIRATION HURT ---------------- SO SAYS SAI Dharma is not a thing that can be determined by each and every person according to his whim. Some may say that the Dharma that comes out of one's heart is his Dharma; how can it become the Dharma of God? So, in your heart - not the physical heart but the spiritual heart, - you must try to locate and cognise the Atma Thatwa. The word 'I' belongs to Atma and never to the body. Thus, Dharma is that which comes from our heart and which is to be put into practice by us. We try to put into practice according to the ideals of our culture and try to live up to that ideal. The 'Vyavaharika Dharma' or Dharma relating to the daily routine will be changing from day to day. Those things that will be changing from day to day are not real Dharma. Dharma is not changeable, it is eternal, it is immutable, it is truth. If it is changeable, why should we establish such a Dharma? Should we act according to it? Rama has been described in the Ramayana by the statement 'Ramo Vigrahavaan Dharmaha'. Rama is the embodiment of Dharma. Even though Rama had a physical body, the Dharma which he lived and set as example and established in the world for eternity is the eternal Dharma and unchanging truth -------------------- BABA CLARIFIES QUE: What is the difference between concentration and meditation , Swami? ANS: Many people think that Concentration is the same thing as meditation, but there is no such connection between concentration and meditation. Concentration is something which is below your senses, whereas meditation is something which is above your senses. But many are under the false impression that concentration is identical to meditation, and they take to a wrong path. Concentration is something which we use involuntarily in our daily, normal routine life. -------- Self-Surrender, a Path to Realize Divine Love Love, coupled with obedience, is the first step towards spirituality. Obedience, love andsurrender are all inter-related. Offering ourselves in absolute surrender to Baba is the summit of our faith in Him. We deserve the Divine Grace when we express our faith and obedience to God. Only upon cultivating these two qualities, one can reach the first step of attaining self-liberation. We have to totally surrender ourselves and plead Baba to bless us with a strong will and power to reach the first step. In Baba's words, complete surrender is an act of shedding the ego "I", which might be lurking in some corner of our heart. Only then, our heart gets purified like a flower cleansed in dew drops. Offering such a purified heart is like surrendering our body, mind and soul to Baba. Then, we are bound to receive His blessings of Love and Ever-New Joy.Just as a sand particle sparkles in the sunshine, so does the Power of Baba drench us and make our lives radiant. Eternal Bliss blossoms in us. By surrendering single-mindedly to Baba, we can experience ever-new divine bliss. This state can be attained only when we pray to Baba in total self-effacement. Those devotees who self-surrender themselves to Baba have no trace of their identity. They are one with Baba. By absolute self-surrender, let us worship Baba to make our lives worthier -------------------------------- SAI VEDA Mere lecturing on the lives of noble men is of no use. You should imbibe their ideals in your life. What is the use of naming a child Dharmaraja if his conduct is contrary to the name given to it? Today, people choose the names of their children from novels and cinemas. The name is appropriate only when the conduct of the child matches it. Parents are responsible for the bad conduct of their children. If the parents are disciplined, their children will also be disciplined. The parents should set an ideal before their children. Peace and discipline in the family contributes towards the peace in the world.------- I AM ALWAYS WITH YOU. -------------------- purelove VIDEO ---------------------
