Guest guest
Thank you for your answer. Yes I found a similar description while googleing about it. I am also interested to know how forum members here do it! Genopdoc, mentioned in his post he performed it every morning. Can you please post the mantra in full, Thanks! , " bajkhedawal " wrote: > > Namaste Bajkhedawal, > > From one of the many Hindu scriptural sources, (don't ask me the title, I have a bad memory for these things), the Sun is welcomed into our lives each morning to give life thus we should be grateful of its life-giving force. After bathing, take a clean utensil, preferably one made in copper and pour some pure water into it with some drops of red sindur, rice, rose flowers or sugar or any combination of these. Do not raise your hands above the shoulder level and avoid water drops falling on your legs (would help if you are standing on a stool). > The best time to offer water is just between half an hour of sunrise. > While pouring recite Om Ghreeni Suryay Namah , or surya stotra, or Om > Deiwakraya namah. > > Jai Gurudev > > ================== > > I wanted to ask Gurujans here: Why do we offer water to Sun in the morning? What is the correct way of offering water to sun, and what to think/visualize while doing this, and which mantra to chant at this time. (I chant Gayatri Mantra, while offering water from a copper pot) > > Please advice! >
