Namaste Baj,

Great to hear you've got a 3-inch long red coral. I'm not a gemologist and Rudra

Centre is right in suggesting that you approach the American Gem Institute for

verification even though it will cost $80. It depends on how much you paid for

the piece to the vendor. If its expensive, then obtaining advice from the

American Gem Institute will be well worth in determining the coral's genuity and

its right cost.

Meanwhile, the picture you uploaded to the Photos section looks clear and if

your piece is the one on the left side which is longer than the other two, then

its got a good chance of being genuine as its two branches spread out like

branches reminiscent of what is found in coral reefs and ocean floors. Good

luck!

They suggested I go to American Gem Institute, but their cost of verifying is

$80.00 and its way too expensive.

Coral should: look, feel, sound (I did a drop test on it and it sounds like

glass, did not break though)
