Dear Intradaycash,

There's no need to wash rudraksha in water everyday as this would soften tthe bead to some degree over a long period of time.

Its best to wash rudraksha beads and malas only when they are dusty, dirty or have grit on them. Washing the beads do not take powers away, it just makes the bead soft after a long time. This is not advisable.

Beads should be washed when they look dirty. Generally they are washed once in every 2 or 3 months or whenever they look gritty and dry.

Use lukewarm water with a few drops lemon juice. Use soft tooth-brush for brushing the beads. Rinse with rose-water or Ganga-jal if you have it. Then oil the beads with sandalwood essential oil mixed with cold-pressed oils such as jojoba, almond, sunflower, (whatever you prefer).

Om Namah Shivaya
