Dear Anil Kumar,

 

Although high quality amethyst like those found on the link below are the

semi-precious substitute stone for Saturn, they can be worn for Jyotish purposes

or as adornments.

 

For Jyotish purposes it is used when the wearer cannot afford Blue Sapphire - in

this case the size of amethyst must be in many carats.

 

As an adornment, amethyst is regarded as a crytal although stones in super-fine

cuts are of very high quality.

 

Either way, amethyst can be worn.
