Guest guest
Dear Naveen, No its not a silly question... Malas should be removed before bed if person is intending to have spousal relationship before sleeping. The other reason why rudraksha should be removed is because when we are asleep, the mukhi surfaces of beads may rub against each other and cause some friction and some chipping. If person is utmost careful and gentle during sleep with mala on, its fine to keep wearing it when asleep. Regarding cult matters and bad things that occur at night, as long as mala or beads are in puja room on altar within 10 feet of the wearer, the person is protected by Lord Shiva. Its stated in holy texts that even Lord Yama's attendants cannot take a demised soul which is within 10 feet of rudraksha at death. Saints and sages are different from ordinary pople. Most of them are celibate and follow some sort of lineage, sampradaya or parampara which teach them what method to follow.
