Dear Anil Patial,

Thanks for sharing your experience and so sorry about your having been cheated over the 14 mukhi bead which you got from a tele-shopping company so that others can be aware and careful not to purchase from such stores.

Rudraksha of high mukhi (above 13 mukhi) should always be obtained from reliable and trustworthy sources like Rudra Centre or Rudraksha-ratna.com where they can give a certificate of authentification if you ask them to provide. /

Genuine 14 mukhi of Nepal origin should be larger than 10mm but Java 14 mukhi can be around 10mm to 12mm in size. Also, none of them would be perfect round bead. Most of them naturally have a bit of oval shape but some can be a bit round, but not perfect round.

I feel saddened to hear of your experience of handling over 11000 Rs for the fake bead and hope you are able to get your money back. Also sorry to hear that you have problems with professional life.

Anil, don't be down-hearted or disheartened. In life sometimes we suffer and other times we prosper. These are all cycles of samsara that everyone has to go through. Its important to view down times as challenges rather than obstacles. Please don't give up. Pray to Lord Ganesha for removing obstacles to pave the way for blessings to come. Perform prayers and mantra with devotion and you will see fruits. Continue to have faith and the bad times will go.

No you did not make any mistake in wearing your mala. Rudraksha do not have any side effects unlike gems. Shastras do not mention any side effects for rudraksha at all.

No, you did not desecrate holy rudrakshas. The only mistake you made was being hasty about purchasing the 14 mukhi mukhi from the tele-shop because they sounded appealing in their advertisements. This is a common mistake made by many people unfortunately.

Tele-shops blatantly advertise, make phenomenal claims, offer free gifts, etc, to pull the customer in. All they are interested in, is making money. They don't care whether their rudrakshas are fake. They don't care about themselves incurring bad karma by doing what they do.

Thanks for providing your birth details. Would highly suggest you to take up the Free Rudraksha, Yantra and Gem recommendation provided by Rudra Centre on their website:

Click the link above. When the web page opens, type in all your details. Their astrologer will study your details and reply to you directly. Please be patient, it may take one or up to 2 weeks as he's always busy. Its truly well worth the waiting time - he is very good.

Meantime, stop reciting Mahamrityunjaya Mantra and chant Om Namah Shivaya instead. Do this 108 times each morning after bath. Keep performing this mantra for 90 days and lets see.

Wishing you best of everything,

Have faith in God,

Om Bholenath

Immediately after seeing it, I found that it is fake, They have carved lines on it to make it 14 mukhi. Any person with even basic knowledge of Rudraksha beads could tell that the 'mukhs' were not natural but man made. It is about 10mm perfectly round bead. It is shocking and saddening. > > I have spent 11000 Rs for it. When I saw their price on their site, I thought it is half the price other reputed sites are charging. On 23-Feb, on MahaShivRatri occasion, I wore one ruraksha Mala ( 1 - one Mukhi, 1 - two Mukhi, 4 - three Mukhi, 2 - five mukhi, 3 - six mukhi, 1 - seven mukhi). I wore this mala after rudrabhishek in temple with proper. Before that in morning, I chanted Maha Mritiyuanjaya mantra 108 times.
