Guest guest
Dear Rohan, Shivling can be kept on the altar at home for worship. Since altars are usually fixed in a certain part of the home, it does not matter which direction the yoni base of a Shivling should face. Bhakti is much more important. Shivling is given the holy bath (abhishekam) using abhishek patra (pot with a tiny perforation at the bottom to drizzle water constantly on the Shivling). When the Shivling is large, a big patra is used. If the Shivling is small, a small patra is used. Please read the articles from these links: /dispProduct.php?prodId=1318 /showarticles.php?artid=272 /parad_shivaling.html Om Bholenath , Rohan Krishna Narvekar <mahamahim01 wrote: > > Namaste Narasimhaye ji, > Narasimhaye ji,please tell me in which direction the tip of yoni base of shivling should be pointed ? can we keep shivling in our altar at our home for puja ? what is the reason behind abhishek patra is hanged over shivling ? is it necessary to hang such abhishek patra above shivling kept in altar at home and how can we do that ? >
