Looking at how different facets of rudraksha like size and faces have separate properties each, and serves unique functions as per need. I am inclined to believe that color of rudraksha also plays a certain role in the function it serves. Correct me if I am wrong but I have read it at couple of places that there are 4 colors found in the beads: white (I guess more of light brown), red, brown, and black.
