Guest guest
Dear Kalpesh, You are very welcome. Its wonderful that you are so faithful and devoted to performing japa every day. Please continue to do this and one day good results will come. The period of how long it takes to achieve results is dependent on our individual karmas. For some people, it takes a short time. For others, it takes a longer time. The most important is to do everything with bhakti and remember that God is there. Its commendable of you to take such good care of both your malas. Don't worry about the string of your Sphatik Mala coming apart soon. The answers to your questions are: a) Since its the string on the Sphatik Mala that is breaking, its best to throw out the old string as it has done its "work". Wash the sphatik beads with gentle soapy water and dry them. Use them for stringing other adornments for the altar. Examples of adornments are malas or bracelets for deities or put the beads in a box with a good new rudraksha that you would like to collect. b) Obtain a new Sphatik Mala. (Its not expensive.) c) No you do not need to perform any puja for the Mala as the priest at Rudra Centre will perform puja in your name before sending it to you. d) Yes you can replace the string with nylon or silk for durability. e) Its ok if you do not want to use a mala after memorising the mantras in the mind and sitting in a steady posture. However its easy to lose count of mantras if we chant long mantras of 108 rounds in one sitting. This is where its peferable to use Malas. I've heard that holding mala beads while chanting mantras can help our fingers to form mudra postures that assist our nerves and generally well-being.
