Guest guest
Namaste Vishal, You are right that Shaligrams must be worshipped with great reverence and procedures. Likewise, Shivalingam, rudraksha and yantras require the same degree of worship. Shaligram, Shivalingam, rudraksha and yantras are all highly spiritual items that are embodiments of God. Shastras did not mention they cannot be worn. So if we wear them, its important that we do so with pure heart. When we worship Gods and/or wear Their embodiments on our body with pure heart and bhakti, they will not be offended and instead will give blessings. Its also true that daily oblations should be given to Shaligram. But God will not approve if families keep their children hungry and offer elaborate oblations. God is kindly so They do not approve of unkindly parents who keep children hungry. All God want is the bhakti of the devotee, not how much the devotee can afford to make big offerings. Its also true that some people, mainly Vaishnavites, make strong vows to worship Shaligram. When this is the case, they strictly follow all procedures and get guidance from temple priest or advice from purohit until they know how to do it properly at home. There are many people the world over who wear holy items like rudraksha, Shivalingam, Parad ring, Parad bead, yantras, etc and some wear Shaligram since Shastra did not say these sacred items cannot be worn. Since there is no mention against wearing, there will be no severe repurcussions. The handling of holy items is mostly similar with common sense applied as to hygiene such as the washing of hands. All holy items when worn are like kavachs for protection, guidance, receiving blessings so when we happen to touch them to negative objects, it protects us by deflecting the negative energy of the object from us. For re-generating purity of Shaligram and other holy items, weekly puja or monthly puja can be done. At night before bedtime, leave them on the altar. We know certain families where they have shaligram at their home puja ghar. They can afford to keep their children hungry but can't miss to give daily oblation and puja to shaligram. It is said that somebody who takes vow to worship shaligram must do it very dutifully otherwise , he will face severe repurcussions. > > So if somebody wears sudarshan chakra shaligram as ring, then he has to keep high discipline about purity, cleaniliness and so on. The hand becomes dirty in work. One has to touch many foul and inauspicious objects with hand. In such case how the person will maintain the purity of shaligram ring. This issue is also relevant to locket to quite an extent. Can you please give some thought over this. > > Best Regards, > > Vishal Sharma > > > > - > narasimhaye > > Monday, January 05, 2009 2:41 PM > RBSC : Sudarshan Ring & Locket > > > > /dispProduct.php?prodId=3937 >
